First, congratulations on getting your cat spayed. IMO, that is being a responsible cat owner.
Ritz is my first cat ever, and I was worried.
The vet said she might throw up because of the anesthesia--and she did--and seemed a little out of it for the remainder of the day. But within three days Ritz was back to her normal self.
The vet cautioned against Ritz jumping, etc. so the first night she was home, I slept on the floor with her so she didn't have to jump.
I did not use a cone, though I knew that was an option; and Ritz isn't the kind of cat that chews things like electrical cords.
In the US, I think it is fairly common for any stitches to be self-dissolving. I kept an eye on her incission, but it healed just fine.
I'd read about the side effects of Metacam. I was given a prescription of Metacam but elected not to give her any pain pills for several reasons, first, I knew the pain would be temporary; and second, if she were in a little pain, then she would take it easy.
Vibes for you and your cat :)

I got my kitty done at 4 months and they suggested regular sutures cause she is very active and might tear the self absorbing ones and they told me to bring her back in 2 weeks for removal. Also they gave her some injection for pain and told me pain meds won't be needed.  And since she was young she would recover faster than an older cat. So maybe about 2 weeks
