I know that this is a loaded question, but I have had so many problems with Android that I'm sick of it. I am really unfamiliar with Macs and iPhones, but one thing that I've noticed is everyone that has them LOVES them.

Talk to me. Thank you.

I debated getting an iPhone and I almost did 2 weeks ago. The only thing stopping me is the cost. The plans are ridiculous. The cheapest plan is $75 a month. I decided just to get a used phone off Ebay (a BlackBerry, same phone I currently have mine just doesn't work well) and keep my same pay as you go plan I am currently on. I pay $20.75 a month right now.

My mom and sister both have iPhones and love them.

l have an old iPhone 3GS and like it. l bought it a long time ago from a friend who upgraded to the 4. l had it unlocked and jail broken and use a pay-as-you-go $100/yr plan, so it only costs me $8.33/month. l don't text or browse, it's for emergencies only.

Is your Blackberry a Droid? I'm on a data plan with Verizon for my Android Bionic, I guess I should ask Verizon if my plan would have to change if I went to an iPhone.

I do a LOT of texting and browsing. That's probably what I do the most of on my smartphone. I have a grandfathered data plan with unlimited data, so even though I'm eligible for an upgrade I hate to lose that unlimited data. They say that you don't use as much data as you'd think, but when I loaded my apps on a new phone almost 2 years ago I got an alert about how I was about to exceed my data plan (long story, my plan switched from unlimited to 2-something but that was remedied). So I'm not real willing to update my plan.

Gah, it's hard being technologically ignorant. LOL

I love my Galaxy 3, and am so happy I decided to get it over an iPhone.  When I was looking for a phone I spent several months researching and decided on Samsung. One of the reasons being is that I hate Apple's ethics.  They steal designs and "tweak" them and release them as their own.  Even Steve Jobs admitted publically that Apple never invented anything.

Yet they are upset that Samsung took their design and "tweaked" it and released it as their own, and sued them over it!

I spoke with my money and decided to support Samsung. Glad I did, because their phone is fabulous.  Everyone I know who had an iPhone when they upgraded went to a Samsung Galaxy 3 or the new 4.

I have an iPhone 5 and love it. Before this phone, I went through three replacement androids in the same year (Samsung MyTouch 4g); it was horrible! Since I already had a contract with TMobile, I was able to get a new phone and I'm really pleased. The quality is much better, and I don't have nearly the problems I did with Androids. I use mine for phone, texting, and internet/browsing. I have an unlimited data plan that I really like at a fixed rate. I've had mine since around May and haven't had any problems. I'll be sticking with iPhones from now on!

We use Mac computers and have iPhones.  I was never a "cell phone person"--hubby actually gave me his hand-me-down iPhone 4 or whatever it was when he upgraded.  Now I love the thing.  I have an iPhone 5.  It has so many uses.  Now I browse, text, email, and oh yeah, even occasionally make phone calls.
But honestly I can't say it's better or compare--the only other smartphone I had was a Blackberry, years ago, and i hated the thing. It was clunky, glitchy, slow, and more trouble than it was worth.  But like I said, that was years ago, I'm sure they're far better now.  Well--does Blackberry even exist any more?  I dunno....but I'm an iPhone convert.

Still loving our Droids. I have a Droid Razr Maxx HD (great for battery life, not so great for pictures). Rick just upgraded a couple months ago to a Droid Ultra (it's just an all-round great phone, in his opinion and he's really happy with it). We have Verizon. Rick was undecided between the Samsung Galaxy and the Droid, but he's happy with his Ultra. The Ultra takes gorgeous pictures, it really does.....some of the pictures Rick has taken are beautiful.

My sister has an iPhone and, while she likes it now, she did not when she first got it. She hated it, in fact, and wanted a Droid. But now she's glad she stayed with her iPhone....she's happy with it.

Dh and I both have Android devices.  Both of our phones are over 2 years old.  Hate the battery life on them.  But that aside, they aren't bad phones.  Dh has unlimited data and I have 4 GB of it.

We upgraded the kids (ages 20 and 17) phones to iPhones- they were the only present that they asked for.  Oldest is still on our plan b/c she's a Sophomre in a college 3.5 hours away from us, and couldn't afford her own phone at the moment.  Youngest has her licence and drives around a car that has 120,000+ miles on it.  And we don't have a landline anymore.

Kids love their phones.  In fact- my 17 year old dropped hers in a stream (and it got wet) at the IL's house one WEEK after she'd gotten it (and yes- I was ticked even though it was an accident).  Thanks to dh's quick thinking (he went into the water and got the phone out less than a minute after she dropped it) and we put it in "phone ICU" (bag of rice and a heating pad under it for several days) the phone survived and came out fine

I kind of want to upgrade.  The fact that we were able to save dd's phone makes me consider the iPhone.  Oldest gave me her iPod touch b/c she no longer needed it, I have to admit it's a nice little device.  And having a phone that does everything so I wouldn't have 2 separate electronic devices to carry if I go to the gym is kind of nice too.  If dh and I upgraded we'd have to ditch the plan we have right now, where everyone has their own data plan.  I don't know if a shared plan would save us anything or not.  Combined, the 3 of us (not counting dh's use) have 8GB of data and we hardly use it- my oldest has wifi on campus and that's what she uses 90% of the time.

BlackBerry is different than Android and iPhones. They use different plans too. I think switching from Android to iPhone is the same plans but BlackBerry are different. I'm in Canada though, so it could be different here. On my current plan on pay as you go, I only get 100 mb a month but I hardly use that because I am at home 99% of the time and I have my phone on wifi. I will upgrade my plan when I get a job and am out of the house more. I wouldn't want to get rid of unlimited data either. There is no such thing as unlimited data here anymore. For $160 a month, you can get 15gb of data.

Yep that's BlackBerry's for you. They are slow and awful but very much still exist. My cousins husband works for BlackBerry and they are not doing very good from what I understand.

We love our Apple MacBooks, iPods, IPads, Airport Extreme, etc. but we have Samsung Android phones. Mainly because we use them as phones and not much else, they are smaller to carry and the plan is cheaper. My sister, who did not own any other Apple products, bought an iPad and was blown away by it. She then bought an iPhone and LOVES it, and she uses it for pretty much everything. Apple products are simple to use, very intuitive.

Love my Droid.  Loved my last one.  I had it for nearly 4 years.

I have a Droid Maxx now - fantastic.  Amazing battery life which means a lot to me.  I wasn't too keen on the camera at first but, it got an upgrade about a week after I made my purchase plus, with all the apps out there, I can still take a pretty darn good photo.

BF has a Razer for almost 2 years now.  He's waiting for the contract to be up on that one so he can get the one I have.

I have an android phone and like it well enough.  I am not one for using all the features though,, as the saying goes, my phone is smarter than I am.

Well I hate to break it to you but most likely if you ever get a new phone Verizon will force you to switch to a different data plan that is capped.  The only way to avoid switching to a capped data plan is to buy the phone outright, not on a two year contract. But keep in mind that if you do that then Verizon's monthly costs  for data, phone, and texting stay the same which is generally how Verizon actually pays off your subsidized two year contract phone.

I had an android phone and I hated it because the phone and the screen were often non-responsive. It had terrible battery life, just sitting their the phone would drain in about 3 hours, that even after replacing the battery. I now have an iPhone and love it, couldn't be happier and would recommend it to almost anyone.

I ended up having to buy a new computer instead.  My old one's motherboard crashed and was not repairable (circa 2003).  I'm aware of how to keep my old plan on Verizon, since the last phone I bought was without changing my contract.  ;)  Thank you though.

I bought 3 extended life batteries for my Droid and an external charger for $25 total.  Fixed my problem for now and I have better battery life.

I had and android and hated it! For me it was terrible. My brother loves his bit I had so many problems. I have the iPhone 5s and I love it. It does have a lot of newer options. I also love the match and iCloud. It saves everything. I had a Mac computer but it died. I now have and iPad and a dell laptop. (Macs are pricey).

I like the iOS platform of Mac much more. Just my opinion. Have you mad a decision?

That sounds like a great plan for a long lasting battery! Too bad about your computer, my dad recently had the same thing happen to his old computer so we had to buy a new  one.  Luckily the hard drive was still in good shape so we could transfer the data.

Good luck with your tech, I love my iPad mini and iPhone but I always buy PCs they are cheaper and the Mac operating system confuses me lol, I'm just too lazy to learn it.

Thank goodness my hard drive was OK as well.  On top of losing pics of babies lost, my school stuff...I shudder to think of losing that stuff.

Being able to switch out batteries on the fly is really convenient.  That's something I would not be able to do with iPhone from what I understand.  What was draining the battery was coming to TCS, and now that I have a laptop and Wi-Fi that's not much of a problem anymore!
