64 gets like choked every once in awhile, where she gets low down to floor and goes HONK HONK HONK...sorry but that's the best way to explain it...is that how a cat sounds with a hair ball ? It scares me.

Yes, that sounds pretty hair-bally to me.  What happens then?

(I should say it's always a worry to make a call like this online as there could be other things going on).

Yes, this does sound like it might be a hairball. Does your cat ever expel a hairball afterwards, or does it sound like she swallows it back? Sometimes a bit of hair can cause irritation which may also be what is going on.

It would be a good idea to have her checked out, to see if something might be stuck or backed up somewhere and to rule out the possibility of asthma.

It could be a hairball, but that is exactly what Munchie does when he's having an asthma attack.  He gets really low to the ground, extends his neck out and coughs/honks.  I would have her checked out just to be safe.

My Daisy does this without producing anything.  She went to the vet earlier this week and right now, we're thinking it's either a food allergy or airborne allergies.
