Did the Vet check her for constipation?.  Usually they can feel if her colon is full.  Anyway, yes, there are a couple of things you can try.  One, you can try adding a little plain canned pumpkin to her canned food.  Maybe 1 teas. per meal.  Some cats really like it, others don't.  So since she isn't eating all that much anyway, if she doesn't like it, don't try to force it on her.  Second, you can use Miralax, or a generic of it.  This is what I use whenever one of my cats has issues.  I use between 1/8 and 1/4 teaspoon dissolved in about 1/4 teaspoon of water.  Then I simply mix that into a little bit of food.  Once they eat that, then I give them more food.  Miralax has no taste, and doesn't gell up, so it's really easy to get them to eat.  I gave my old guy this concoction twice a day for over a year just to keep him regular.  If I missed a day, he became constipated, but he had kidney disease, to was prone to dehydration already.   It might take a few days to start working though.

I'm also going to refer you to this thread which discusses not only Miralax, but Slippery Elm Bark.  I had never heard of using SEB for constipation, but there's a lot of discussion about it on this thread:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/270597/slippery-elm-bark-wet-food-managing-constipation

the vet did check her for constipation and said she felt backed up and asked about her latest stool which was that same day . It was very hard and small amount like todays. I bought some miralax and will try that later.

I'm currently giving her 1 packet of fortifora a day. Can I continue giving that to her and the Miramax? Should they be given separate or together is ok?

You can give Fortiflora anytime.  I use it as a topper, and have for years.  IMHO, that's all it's good for.  A very expensive topper.  What are you using it for?

to see if it would help her digestive issues. The vet sais try it and see if it helps with the vomiting. I just wasn't sure if it was ok to mix the food Miramax and fortifora

I'm really sorry to hear about Lucy–I know what you're going through as my kitty Blondie is going through pretty much the same thing as well.

Just wanted to say really quick, in regards to the z/d food, the company will absolutely take back any cans/bags of food even if opened. I've returned 1 bag and 3 cans of z/d and d/d in the past week. If any place tells you otherwise, they are not honoring Hill's policy, and I would shop somewhere else. I suppose all this is only relevant if you're still planning on trying the z/d. Best of luck to you.

Hi all just updating Lucy's issue. She went back to the vent and every test came back normal again. Her blood results have to be done again due to an issue with the sample so I have to go back and get that done. She's still sick . I've been through every protein and nothing seems to help. The problem now is that she ate the natural variety turkey and eventually vomited on it and now won't eat it and has done the same for beef, rabbit, lamb, venision, duck. Once she vomits she won't eat that food anymore. I switched her to radcats turkey and omg I've never seen her like food so much. She wanted it all the time and was crying for it but then she vomited but not because of the food but because she chewed up one of her toys and swallowed a piece of rubber. She vomited and it came out but now won't eat the radcats turkey. Last night I baked her a chicken cutlet and she at what I gave her but I don't know what to do at this point. She looks so skinny . due to a lot of family issues I haven't been able to get to the vet this past week to get another round of blood tests done .

Also I've noticed she does this thing where she shakes her head back and fourth a lot. She doesn't have fleas and I checked her ears for mites and her ears look spotless . I'm at a loss right now . here she is all upset that she she broke her toy .

Is she throwing up food or foamy liquid? Foamy liquid can be a sign of excess stomach acid. And is she still having constipation issues?

Its always food. Her last episode was Friday night after she ate some food she chewed her toy and vomited the rubber. She always vomits her food ever 6-8 days . I just gave her about a table spoon of chopped up baked chicken cutlet . I cut in in little pieces. I tried giving her some canned turkey and beef but she just snubs it . she's a tiny cat as it is. Normally around 7 pounds and she looks so skinny now.

I'm still paying off past vet bills due to my other cat who past away in Nov from cancer . its been real tough.

I've literally tried every canned food in Petco . I'm sure she will eat fish flavor food but she's allergic to it . she starts twitching and rubbing her face so I can't give her that

I wonder if the head shaking is also related to her food allergies.  As you know, they effect her head (she starts twitching and rubbing her face), so maybe something is also causing her to shake her head because there is something deep inside her ear that's being effected.  That, or she's developing an infection of some sort deep inside...something that doesn't really itch though, or she'd be scratching.

As to her food, you've been feeding her Nature's Variety RAW?  And I know the Radcat is raw.  Have you tried giving her Radcat chicken or lamb.  I realize once she's had a protein and thrown up, she doesn't want it again, but Radcat and Nature's Variety chicken (and lamb) are completely different.  I would give that a try.  You could also try Nature's Menu (you'd probably have to order that via the internet)  And you may be able to go back to another protein after a few weeks...have you tried that?

Are you giving her probiotics (other than FortiFlora) and Digestive Enzymes along with her food? Have you thought about just making her food, either raw or homecooked?  We have an entire forum dedicated to just that.  Here's the resources thread:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/263955/helpful-resources-raw-home-cooked-cat-food-forum

How about her constipation?  Is that under control?

Poor Lucy?

I was just giving her the fortiflora. As for the raw food I tried the NV raw lamb, rad cats turkey and my local holistic shop makes their own blends and I tried their beef. She ate all of them at one point until she vomited . I set up different protein canned foods today around my house and she smells them and walks away. I was eating a turkey sandwich and she wanted the turkey . being that she only ate a small amount of shredded chicken cutlet I gave her some turkey so she had something in her belly.

The head shaking happens all the time. I thought it was just after she ate certain foods but she does it in her house , on the bed, in the litter box . she also scratches on and behind her ears. She's the only cat I have and never ever goes out. I checked her ears and they look clean.

I'm really surprised the ultrasounds didn't show any inflammation. Did they look at her pancreas and bile ducts, also?

I scanned through the posts and I'm not sure I saw it mentioned. Is she on any medication? How about an appetite stimulant and an anti-emetic (to prevent vomiting)? I know you're trying to figure this out with food, but some kitties need a little help to get stabilized.

She had the pli test, chest xrays and 2 ultra sounds all were good. She's up now and walking around but she's wobbly . her stomache is making those gurgling sounds like yours does when you are hungry. Hers does it sometimes all the time . I'm worried about giving her more turkey coldcuts because I don't won't her to vomit from it. If she vomits I don't think her little body with recover again. I made another vet appointment but its not for A week because they are packed.

Hello  here's another update on  my girl. I was unable to  make the vet appointment  due to  a family issue  but she is scheduled to  see a vet  this Friday. Lucy  seems to  be constipated again and  is barely eating again.  she tried  making a bowl movement tonight and  a piece about the size of a nickle came out and she ended up  vomiting all over the bathroom floor in front of her litter box.  Lucy  does not want to  eat anything. Yesterday she ate maybe 3 ounces of chicken breast, heart, and some liver  this morning she ate about the same but wont eat anything now that she threw up again. she cries like she wants food but wont eat. i put out  dishes all over my  house  and in each  dish  i had different things.  raw beef, raw chicken liver heart, cooked chicken liver heart, canned venison, beef, tuna  and she smells them but wont eat.  i dried some dried kibble and she  snubbed that i  dont know what to  do  anymore for this  little beast. She still  hasnt been diagnosed  after seeing 3 vets.  all  said they  believe its  ibd/allergies and or cancer or a combination but according to  her tests from  November everything  was ok. hopefully she eats something. i will update on friday after seeing the vets again.

Gosh, I just don't know what to tell you other that what has already been said
.  I just hope they can find something, ANYTHING, tomorrow when you take her in again.  I would think you are going to have to syringe feed her if she is not eating enough...that's probably why she is wobbly at this point.  Is she drinking anything?  Have you tried baby food meats?  They aren't 100% nutritionally complete, but neither is deli turkey, and I'm thinking baby food would actually be better...less sodium.   But you need to stick with stage 1, I think it is.  Nothing but meat...no onion or garlic or anything like that.  What about the (ugh) prescription hypoallergenic cat foods?  Have you tried those?  Just throwing things out there for discussion with the Vet tomorrow.  But, gosh, I sure would hate to see her go from a good raw diet to something like that, however, if it's all she can tolerate, then so be it.  What about Nutrical?  Will she lick some of that off your fingers?   (I've never had a cat that liked it, but you just never know)

Let us know what happens after the Vet visit

I went to a holistic vet today and he suggest Georges aloe vera distilled juice, prozyme and some mothers milk to get nutrients in her.does anyone have any advice for using these things ? My wife called me and told me little Lucy ate 2teaspoons of chicken, liver, heart mix so that's some good news and she was going to give her some more now.

I would contact the Vet again and find out exactly what portions they want you to use, etc., but in the meantime, here a thread that talks a little bit about George's Aloe Vera Juice, used with Slippery Elm Bark though.

And what exactly "mother's milk" is, I don't know.  Colostrum, but didn't know you could just buy that
.  I know Prozyme helps any nutrients absorb, the I guess the Mothers milk will be the nutrients, possibly the Aloe will help settle her stomach, but that Mother's Milk can't be her only nutrients for long, I wouldn't think...maybe so though, IF you get the right stuff.  Obviously kittens survive on it in the beginning.  But, as I said, where do you get that???

I know you can order George's via the internet, because I have some here.  Totally tasteless, which is a good thing, as normal Aloe Vera juice tastes terrible
and no cat in their right mind would drink it.

Im Manhattan (NYC) there's a holistic petshop called whiskers. I think their website is whiskers.com but not sure. Its a small place but they have mostly herbal and natural stuff. They also have 2 specialistthat deal with health issues and supplements. The place is very busy and a lot of people swear any the shop And the specialist. I spoke with him today for a while about my girl and he basically was spot on with what he was telling me and he is the one who suggested the things I purchased. The mothers milk is sold there also but its expensive. He told me if she's not eating to get nutrients in her asasp and
