We had a similiar case recently in the Ferale forum.  The solution there was the Rescue group sponsoring this fosterhome, took the mom and let do a spay on her (ie also abortion).  The mom was visibly better after that,  not so touchy.

So, before we go on with advices, is spaying NOW an option for you?  If so, there is no thinking twice.

The vets will also take a health check up at the same time.

IF its no option.

A vet check up may be good, as cats in pains, dont have the same patience as otherwise.  Ie, its fully possible her bad humour is not hormon changes, but pains.

Otherwise, you can try it conservatively:  a Feliway diffuser in her chamber, calming relaxing music - classical harp music is best...

Of course make sure she isnt not stressed from the outside - your resident animals, children, noises, smells...

Mom stressfri is always an important advice.

Just you helping in there, you their main caretaker.  YOU should be able to do what is needed to do.  Usually even shy semiferales allow it,, as long it is done respectfully.

Hope my answer helped you some.

Otherwise, come back with further questions and explanations,   AND reports!    Pics are also welcome.

Good luck!

Hi hub thankyou for he reply I don't want to spay her whilst she's pregnant as I will feel relly bad on the unborn babies however I did ring my vet today n they said let her het on with it just keep supplying her with food water etc and if she still no had babies in three weeks call them n they will send a vet out n also call cats protection as they will spay her n the babies for free so will be doing this as soon as she's given birth I'll be ringing them to book a appointment for them don't feel comfortable with the idea but it's Will be for the best in the long run
