Your cartoon is so true! Why do both kids and cats want nothing to do with you until you are in the bathroom? I've often wondered!

It's a great cartoon! You absolutely nailed it
All I can say from my experience is that at least the kids stop doing it at a certain age... My cat is 16 and still follows me to the bathroom. So glad the kids don't!

This brings to mind a story a friend told us about her son who was 2 1/2 at the time. She went to the bathroom and locked the door, but her son kept banging on the door to get in. She told him that she needed some privacy and he stopped for a few moments. Then he called out "mom, can I come in and have some privacy with you?"

My sister and I still do this to my mom for laughs.  When we were young we used to get her "gifts" from around house and push them under door.  When I babysat I had to laugh as child did the same and I was like darn this is annoying!!!

My 4 year old tells me she needs privacy.  Or sometimes its "priy-ah-see."  She still doesn't give me any.

That is my life! It's gotten to the point where, if it's just Rick and me in the house I don't bother to shut the door anymore because Mollipop starts head-butting the door and yelling at me to let her in. And at that point, I can't open the door! Then she starts scratching at the carpet, to which I usually say "Molli-Stop!" Then she headbutts the door again. I gave up a long time ago and simply don't shut the door.

So I usually have the girls in the bathroom with me......Mollipop comes running in and she hops into the bathroom sink. Then Muffin comes in and she hops in the bathtub and starts messing around; she likes to lick the shower curtain. Tabby comes in and winds herself around my legs or she'll attack any little pieces of litter on the floor. And sometimes, Amber will join in the bathroom party; she likes to come in and walk around, just out of my reach, so I can't touch her....we call that "flirting".

Oh, and in the morning after my shower (when I do shut the door), Boo is outside the door waiting to come inside, so we can Bounce. And if I don't get the door open right away, he yeows at me until I do.

So it's me and four (sometimes five) cats. Pretty much all the time.

It's really hilarious when Rick goes into the bathroom in the morning. The cats know that, during the week, Rick is the main feeder-person at breakfast. And he shuts the door; he has to or it can actually get ugly. I've stood in the bedroom doorway and watched as every single cat has walked to the bathroom door and sat down in the hallway outside the door. They're waiting for him to come out of the bathroom. Why? Because when Dad leaves the bathroom, he goes to the kitchen. Breakfast!
They know that! Even Muffin knows that. (I should get a picture of the cats sitting outside the door, waiting on Rick.) And as soon as he opens the door, all the cats will tear out through the hallway, through the living room, and into the kitchen.

 We are so out-numbered.

Yes cats are our children even to those who have children......My twoface is like therapy to me.....When I have been hurting she senses it......When she wants attention she will make sure she knocks something over to get my attention....And she often does this. She will lay on my laptop and it wakes me up at night because I forgot to shut it and while I'm dreaming I'll hear the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep....Over and over in my sleep until I wake up and see she is nice and toasty asleep........I'm like TWOFACE!. LOL

Oliver likes to investigate what's going on... which is weird. Something to get used to. Or he'll jump up on the seat behind me and jump up into the pedestal sink. Also something to get used to. If I shut the door, it's the cartoon. Paws under the door.
