Thanks a bunch, Gemma.  At least I managed to snag 2 slices of my freshly-home-baked loaf of bread BEFORE YOU GOT ON THE COUNTER TO STEAL IT!
(It fell on the floor, and I trashed it.)

Yeah, apparently, we NEVER feed the cats, so they are just starving, simply wasting away...

My first perfect loaf, too.

I had a cat once who ate bread, but only French bread or croissants. He would jump on the forbidden counter and chew a hole into the plastic covering, then pull out several slices and start chewing on them. Commercial white bread or sourdough left him cold, only French and croissants were to his liking. My Persian cat likes potato chips, any that fall on the floor she immediately scoops up, same goes for French fries. These strange foods for cats did not do them any harm, but I have a Birman who will lick any plate, beg for people food and then promptly throws it up, so I really have to watch not to leave any within her reach. At least she does not climb on counters so stuff in the sink does not have to be taken care of immediately but can wait until company goes home and I can stack dishes in the dishwasher after scraping.

I like that name "carb junky". My vet wasn't thrilled when I told him abou these two and said to keep them from eating bread and potato chips. So the bread went into the bread box immediately, was never left on the counter again and I don't eat potato chips in the living room anymore, only at the table so they don't have a chance to fall on the floor which does not keep that beggar from sitting on the floor next to me hoping that something will fall her way. At least she doesn't make any noise about it, just sits there. She has not had even one chip since I told the vet about it.
