We have just brought a new cat from the SPCA into our home two days ago... He is one year old and was eating fine the first night he was here (we bought the same type of food he was eating at the spca). However its been since yesterday he has been vomiting bile and refusing any type of food we give him. He still purrs and seems fine. Would you guys please shed us light on what is happening to our dear kitty?

It could be anything. He could've eaten something in the house that didn't agree with him, plants or anything or he could be suffering from an illness, really anything and a vet is the only person to really shed light for sure.  As it's been going on for a day, I would consider going to the vets tomorrow with him to get him checked over as cats without food can get poorly quite quick, esp if he's not drinking. Mine ate very little for a day then nothing next day and when I took him in to the vets he was put on a drip for 48 hours because he was quite badly dehydrated.  He had a UTI. Perhaps talk to the rescue place to find out if he'd been given any meds just before he left to go to yours, or any history of vomiting or illness.  Oh, purring and playing etc doesn't always mean the cat is well, cat's hide pain & problems for as long as they can. Poor little love!  Hope he gets better soon and you guys can get to know each other and have fun!

He needs to be seen by the vet.  Refusing to eat is a big red flag that something's wrong.

Definitely agree, take him to a vet for a check up a lot of times underlying issues can be brought out by the stress of a new home.

Your SPCA may have a provision for post adoption medical care but regardless he needs a vet immediately as others above have said.
