I picked up some of the buffalo and pheasant Wild Calling food, I haven't tried it yet.  I am hoping they are enough different from beef and chicken so as not to cause issues, I am constantly trying to get more varied proteins without chicken or beef and avoiding too much fish.  I noticed they only have 145 calories a can which is less than many foods.  For my two kibble addicts who are still eating some kibble it's no big deal.  For kitties who are eating all wet, which is the best, one can a day wouldn't be enough except for the kitties that are smaller than average.

Mine didn't like Wild Calling, but then again, they don't like much
.  I swear I have the pickiest cats in the world...well, except Darko, who, thankfully, will eat just about anything I put in front of him.

If you think 145 is low, take a look at Soulistic or Weruva.  The only Soulistic that Tinky will even lick at only has 93 calories per 5.5 oz can
.  That's ridiculously low!  And since he won't even eat one full can a day, I'm at wits end trying to figure out how to keep weight on him.  Today I even poached an egg for him hoping he would like it.  Do you think he did...
.  I'm seriously starting to freak out over here
Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread

Peaches has been eating the Turkey in the Wild Calling. Tried the rabbit and  chicken but she wouldn't eat it. She loves the turkey but I have noticed it sometimes will give her gas. It's nice and creamy and that is what Peaches likes. I'm afraid to try the ones you got because she is so picky. Hope your kitty likes them and does well.

Both kitties are eating the pheasant, now we will see if it causes Patches ears to itch.  It does have a different texture from what I was expecting.  I thought it would be like the Nature's Variety Instinct or Hounds and Gatos, but the kitties are eating it.  That is what counts.

Yes, that does seem a tad low. I suppose you're going to have to pump it up a bit with some other foods. Considering most Fancy Feast classics have what ~ 88 kcal / 3 oz. can x 2 = 176 kcal / day.  An average egg yolk has ~ 50-55 calories. You could mix one in the food to jack up the calories.

I see what you're striving for though: rotating proteins with little to no fish.

It's a challenge but I've got a decent stock pile going with zero fish in the ingredients, on the left side of the closet.  Right side has brands with fish as the 4-6th ingredient.

I'll reserve 1 to 2 novel proteins for emergency purposes, like rabbit, buffalo or venison.

So far, my kitty has eaten chicken, turkey, duck, lamb, beef.   Beef isn't as popular but he'll eat it.

How is it going with the Wild Calling? The buffalo is currently one of Abby's favorites.
