Hi my name is Cori and I just rescued my two new
Family members from the shelter. Two beautiful
little Calicos. Right now I always keep a bowl of dry food
out, and I give each one half a can of wet food in the morning
and half in the evening. Is this to much? The dry food usually lasts
a few days. Thanks in advance for any advice :)

Sounds about right to me. Some people disagree with leaving dry food down all day. But I do this and none of my cats are over weight. If it takes your two girls a few days to eat a bowl of biscuits, then I don't think they are over eating at all.

Ps would love to see some pics of your girls :D

Thank you my brother in law said I'm
gonna have two Garfield cats on my
hands. I just didn't want to make them
unhealthy.

How old are they? The general rule of thumb for adult indoor neutered cats is about 20 calories per pound of ideal weight daily. So a 10 pound cat would need about 200 calories daily. Adjust up or down as needed for unwanted weight loss or gain.

All calories are not equal however, especially for cats who are obligate carnivores. Cats do best on an all wet, high animal protein, moderate fat, low to no carb diet. www.catinfo.org has great info written by a vet about feline nutrition and has a handy comparison chart of wet foods.

Oh I didn't realise you meant kittens. I thought you had adopted adult cats.

Right they should be having at this age a minimum of three wet meals a day- ideally four meals

Welcome to the site.  Kittens you want to feed  as much as they will eat so you could probably increase what you are feeding with no problems.
