I got my cat spayed, she was looking so miserable with the cone so I picked up my crochet needle and within 3 hrs I had a sweater for her. I padded the belly part with felt for added comfort and protection so she wont be able to scratch or pull out her stitches.

I also made a rug and catnip toy...this took a day or two...

You should consider selling these, especially the sweater! There are plenty of cat owners who needs something like that.

Love the cat toy! My cats always seem to prefer the home made yarn toys. I usually buy them at the vet since the money goes to a shelter

I am considering making them in bulk and donating them to a cat shelter nearby. I have a fan page for crochet stuff in facebook and quite a few of my friends have asked to make sweaters for their furry friends :)

Same here my cat doesnt give a hoot tot he toys I buy from the shops...she likes the toys her mommy makes for her :)

That would probably really be appreciated. Ditto the rugs and toys. Volunteers at our local shelter crochet cat toys, and they're sold at the shelter itself and at vets' offices to raise money. We haven't had Mogli all that long, but he learned fast that he gets a new yarn toy when he goes to the vet or is boarded at the shelter. The only problem is that I bought some to give as Christmas presents this year, and he found the hiding spot (a zippered bag on a high shelf) and helped himself. :lol3: I guess he can't get enough of them.

I just love that sweater! Well done! And the cat toys are so cute. That rug is just awesome! You do beautiful work and your Elsa looks quite comfortable in her sweater!

How clever and talented you are! That's a mighty pretty model you've got there, too. One of my little ones is wearing a cone right now, I'm sure she wishes she had you, instead of me, looking after her.

You did a great job and now Elsa is so much more comfortable and doesn't have to find a way to eat with that big tube around her neck.  Fantastic.

My cat had surgery at his rear end and needed to wear the "Elizabethan Collar" so he could not lick or bite back there. Would you have any other ideas on what and how to use something that would prevent a cat from reaching back there? He was miserable for over two months. Your sweater for abdominal surgery is wonderful.

Oh dear....hmmmm rear end ..u mean where he poops? I cant think of a single thing.. :( But if its above the tail o lower tummy then you could just crochet the sweater and make it longer so it covers the lower tummy...if its near the tail u can make only the top part longer..
