Wednesday night, Gracie cuddled with me as I did homework, ate mac and cheese off my plate, and laid in my arms as I fell asleep.

Thursday morning I found her dead. 

I am devastated to be without my Gracie. In the last few months, she really came around and was very loving, social, and talkative... And now she's gone.  I decided not to keep her ashes as it would break my heart to know that her fluffy little body was stuck in there. 

Today, to honor Gracie's memory, I decided to adopt a new kitty. Her name is Margo and she's a 4 y/o tabby cat from the Capital City Humane Society in Lincoln, NE. 

RIP Grayson Louise! Tass and I will miss you and love you forever. 

Hi MusicalKitty, welcome to TCS.  I'm so sorry your Gracie has passed, especially so suddenly. I know how difficult it can be to lose a pet. Hopefully Margo will provide you some comfort while you heal.

I'm so very sorry you had to go through that, I hope it's some consolation that it was sudden and she didn't suffer. It hurts the heart so bad to lose them, but when there is no inkling at all that anything is wrong it doubles the shock. I know that another furry face does help to get your mind off of it, and it honors your Gracie by sharing the love you two had for each other. I am in Nebraska too and love that you are adopting from a shelter, there are way too many beautiful cats that do not have a forever home. Please let us share your sorrow and good luck with your new addition! RIP beautiful Gracie!

I spoke to you in New Cats and wanted to tell you again how sorry I am for your loss.  Gracie was a beautiful girl and it's a wonderful tribute to to her that you are adopting a cat.  I can't think of a kinder or more special way to honor her memory.
