So... Fletcher's home for the night. Basic blood test was performed and came out kind of not good. Stuff I couldn't understand but could possibly point out to FIP. The fluids they gave him all day didn't take the fever down, so that's not good either. We'll take him back tomorrow morning for further testing. I'll try to sleep a little but right now it's hard... Thank you guys, you really are helping a lot :(
Please let us know how it goes. Don't lose hope....nothing has been firmly diagnosed yet. Praying for your kitty.......

the good thing here is that you took him to the vet, you did the right thing and all you can do now is wait and see what happens. I'm hoping for nothing but the best, totally understand how this is a terrible time for you.....
big hug for you and for fletcher

Thank you :) there was never a doubt as to whether take him to the vet or not, I wasn't really sure if it was worth the stress (for him) of rushing him to the emergency vet. it was my first time with a sick kitty, I am not good yet at picking up the signs. Thank you all :(

When you feel like it please post his blood test results, we can help tell you what they look like.

Also I want to ask, did you say he is on antibiotics?

What did the vet tell you is the next step or what you are waiting for? I imagine if he is infact on antibiotics it is waiting to see if it affects the fever or not.

That's a decent indicator that can rule other things out.

Thank you very much for your offer! :) we'll have the results back in a couple of days. However it will take me a bit to translate them from italian to english... I'm struggling as well with reporting back to you what the vet says, because it's very specific terminology I barely know how to express in my own language.

We just got back, his fever is apparently gone for now. They gave him again antibiotics and we'll go back tomorrow morning for another dose. He's clearly feeling better and we really hope it's a sign that things are really fine :)

Excellent news! A good sign for sure.

This does not mean he is out of the woods for possible fip, because the fever will stay, but at some point will drop, and return too, then near the end will drop quite low, but not to scare you, it sounds like it's safe to say a very good sign.

Feeling better is also a great sign!

Please allow me a little Snoopy dance... Fletcher is fine!! :D :D apparently it was just an infection that gave him a nasty feever... He'll have to take antibiotics twice a day for another week, but the fever is gone, the test results are fine and he's back to his former self! I told him that he's forbidden to scare me like that ever again, I will not allow him under any circumstances to get sick again :D he gave me that look, you know, the "shut up and feed me, human" look. I love him soooo much
