Thank you for sharing this Andrya. How timely as I noticed a large display of Natural Balance products in my local store recently, and was curious about this food.

So, here I am looking at the Natural Balance company website - why am I not seeing a food recall due to the pebbles?
l guess they're still testing it. Pebbles are all-natural though

The only pet food recall so far this year showing up on the FDA website is for Red Flannel cat food - salmonella.

l've never heard of it.

Natural Balance was just bought out by Del Monte. Could be that multinational company mess up another good food? (Look what happened when P&G bought Natura). I have had no issues with rocks in the food yet but am reconsidering feeding it due to this recent acquisition.

Wow, so sad... not the pebbles so much, but that Del Monte bought Natural Balance.
(Although I trust them more than P&G, and I still feed EVO every day.)

I wonder if the cases that expire in the middle of 2016 (selling now) were made prior to the takeover?

Anyone know an easy way to find out?

If so, I'll buy several more cases, just in case they decide to change it -

still sad about the drastic changes to By Nature 95% - it is not even remotely similar to

the product that came in the taller, thinner 6 oz can.

A few of my Kitties get NB mixed into nearly every meal, accounting for about 1/3 of their total intake,

in addition to 95% (Evo, Wysong, Wild Calling.)

OK, about the pebbles...

I can easily imagine either of those scenarios described in the article occurring.

However, I typically go through 2 cans of NB per day - I add warm water and mash well with a fork,

so there is no way I would miss pebbles, and I have not yet found any.

(I feed Chicken & Liver Pate as well as Turkey & Giblets - both expire in the middle of 2016 - same as the lady who filed the complaint.)

Always something, isn't it?

I emailed them and did not receive a direct answer.  It's obvious the rep. did not want to provide a track record of information to me via email for legal / reputation reasons.  Thats fine, that makes sense.

She wanted a phone number to speak to me directly instead. Rather pointless, so I didn't proceed considering the response in the article.
