Ok, I've got a question. I'm slightly concerned that the foster house my kittens came from may have some sort of illness going around. The house is very well kept, however about a week before I got my kittens they lost a 3 year old cat. The cause of death is unknown because by the time the noticed how sick he was it was 2 days before he passed away. Basicly he had lost a lot of weight & when they found the problem he had a fever of 106. They did some home care & got his temp down to normal. Then 2 days later they found him under a bed covered in his own diarreha & his temperature was down to 94. They took him to the vet & that night he passed away at the vets office. I guess I didn't think much of it until recently. My friend made mention that one of the other cats was "depressed" by the passing of the other one & that he was just sitting down stairs by himself all the time. Then this weekend they were talking about their older kitty who is 12 & how he's lost weight. I guess he's been "taking walks" with them & their dog every night & they say that's why he's losing weight. There is also a female cat in the house who had to have an emergancy spay about a year ago due to complications during birth. & ever since then she has been putting on weight. Also she seems to have VERY dry itchy skin. I'm wondering do these three things sound related, or am I just being paranoid? They volenteer at the shelter with me & that is why they were fostering the two kittens.
