Signed up and registered for Adobe InDesign classes at a local college!
My boss brought the paper into my office and said, "Go for it". So I did! I just love taking graphics classes. Take the entry level class first, followed by the second level a month later.

I am really excited! Something new to learn!

My boss just rocks.

I took Photoshop and Illustrator classes the last two years or so....on my own and through Lynda.com. We're going to be working on an open-space project at work and my boss and I are going to be the writers and designers for the project. We already know there's going to be a lot of hair-pulling and stress. But we think we're up to it, the design work and the graphics and such. Then we'll ship it out for printing. I'm looking forward to starting the work.

We just finished doing a ton of graphic projects for our county's bicentennial celebration and I loved doing those. Brochures, flyers, tickets, you name it, we did it. It was stressful and we did a lot of whining and complaining throughout the year. But we also enjoyed it. And, personally, I learned a lot about commercial design and printing. I had never done much in the way of commercial work, so this was an adventure.

We're also doing a whole new website and he put me in charge of our department's site. We're in the planning process for that, so the work hasn't actually started yet. I'm not even sure of what format we're going to be using. We get a clean slate and it's up to us to decide what we're going to do and how we're going to do it. I'm excited about that, too. I'm a community / land use planner, so this gives me some good opportunities to get involved in other projects. Another plus is that when something needs to be uploaded to the site, we can do it ourselves; we're not dependent on somebody else to do it when they get around to it.

I'm all registered for the classes and everything's paid. I just need to wait until starting date.

It's going to be a busy year and I can't wait. Even though I know there's going to be a lot of complaining and whining. I'm still excited.
