Ear hematoma ?

has anyone else every had a cat get a hematoma in their ear from scratching? My poor cat cuddles had this happen and have to have surgery...now his poor ear is bent lol

I've not personally experienced this with my kitties, but I'm sure some of the other cat owners have had this problem.  As long as he can hear okay and it doesn't bother him, I wouldn't let him know he's "different".

Unfortunately when they have a hemaotma the ear structure itself can be damaged, a lot of kitties and doggies for that matter end up with floppy ears following the procedure.

Yes, my 14 year old Tuxedo developed a bit of a hematoma in one of his ears that was filled with a bit of fluid which drained on its own, before we were able to get him to the vet. The tip of the ear became a bit deformed as the result. We never knew if this was from scratching or something else. Year later he later developed squamous cell carcinoma and I have always wondered if the ear hematoma was the first sign of it.
