Could my ex-feral kitty just be a lazy cat now?

I adopted Gracie six months ago. She was a cat who randomly showed up at the barn. After a few weeks of convincing she became part of our barn cat family. In May, a woman at the barn took all four into the vet, and discovered that Gracie needed to have 14 teeth removed. After the surgery, Gracie briefly stayed at a foster home with 5 mean(er) kitties (Gracie secluded herself to the basement and didn't interact with anyone or anything much). In August, I picked her up and officially adopted her. Since then, Gracie has been perfectly happy sleeping on all the pillows, laptops, and blankets she can.

However, she has no desire to play-hunt, chase, or scratch. She just lays there when I try to entice her with catnip, string, or toys. She has no interest in being a cat-like at all!

Could she be sick, lazy, or just happy being a floppy and warm kitty without any playfullness?

(She's wonderfully social and cuddly, just not playful like other cats I've owned have been)

Either that, or else she got some heart damage because of her bad teeths and bacterias there.  and doesnt has the strengh to play.  But does has the will to life, and to love and cuddle...

Good luck!

She may just be a lazy bones.  If the vet hasn't done heart tests or bloodwork, it might be worth a visit and discussion with the vet.

Thank you for rescuing her.  Hopefully, she is just a laid back kitty grateful for her life inside!

Unfortunately, the cat that this thread is about (Gracie) passed away very suddenly sometime Wednesday night. Wednesday at bed time she cuddled with me during homework, ate a full dinner, pooped in the litterbox and laid in my arms as I fell asleep. And then Thursday morning I found her dead on the couch :(

I'm taking solace in that fact that Gracie died knowing she was loved, safe, and happy. She had a warm apartment with two moms who loved her so incredibly much. She died a happy house cat instead of a feral barn cat fighting for survival.

You are in my thoughts.  Be comforted in knowing that Gracie knew she was loved and cared for.  I am so very sorry for you loss.
