Hi Everyone:
I just joined a few minutes ago. I found your site while looking for solutions to the age-old question of what to do about discouraging you kitties from using the furniture and woodwork in the house as scratching posts.
We have two kittens, that we adopted a month ago. They are both males and are about four months old. The smaller male has just started trying to claw everything. The large brother hasn't tried this--yet.
There are also two far older adult cats in the household, a ginger tabby (male) and a long-haired red marmalade female. Both of these are ten years old. They also can come and go from the house into the yard.
The kittens haven't been allowed out yet, because we live in the woods and have owls.
All of the cats are rescued strays.
I will also add that while we were out of the state for Thanksgiving, a neighbor's pit-bull killed my beloved tortoiseshell, Angelina. So, I am still in mourning a bit. But the two kittens have helped.
The pit-bull has been dealt with.
And that is about all I can think of to say for now.
Thank you
