Hi, I have a one-year-old persian/maine-coon mix called Juliet who seems to be losing a lot of weight recently. She's been eating dry food (blackwood) as she always does, but it doesn't seem to be helping her gain or keep a constant weight, and when I try to feed her things like fish, chicken or beef (all of them boiled and de-boned) she won't touch any of it. She won't even eat any canned cat food. I've talked to the vet about this problem and he seems pretty off-handed about it, saying as long as she maintains this weight she should be fine and that with picky cats it "can't be helped", but I can feel her rib-cage, hip bones and spine far too easily and she's light as a feather, so I don't think it's a healthy weight to be maintained.
Can anybody suggest what I might be able to do to help my picky kitty gain weight? I'm really worried for her, and I love her far too much to lose her.
