Afternoon all,

What's your job....what do you do?

I'm so done with working with people to get stabbed in the back, or working with gossiping females that I'm in the process of starting up my own business making and selling home decoration's erring on the side of Christmas ones.

Right now I have a pretty sweet part-time job taking care of the administrative work for a non-profit company. I've been doing it for 20 months and it's been good the last year. The beginning was tough because it was a huge weird mess, the person who had the job before did it for 16 years, was the original first administrator. I don't think she had much experience because it was like nothing I'd ever seen in my years of office admin cleanups. She named files after her cats, for example, and there was no order to anything. 1/3 of her electronic files were under the name "Oct 3, 2005."  Must have been one important date! Once I got things cleaned up and organized (I pretty much just started over and reinvented the job doing it properly) it's been EZ.

I need to get off of here and go do my job, thanks QOTD.

Land Use/Community Planner for my county. Overall, I like it. It's not an 8 hour day or a 40 hour week, more because of meetings and such. But I do enjoy my work.

I work in the inventory control department at an Amazon fulfillment center.  It's the first time I've worked in a warehouse setting and it's been interesting.  I'm a nerdy type, so "counting beans" doesn't bother me.

I have struggled with coworker for years but I recently have changed jobs and found a very rewarding career . I work with an aide and assist home health company as a cna. I am loving that I dont have to deal with office drama and I am still doing what I love and helping people take care of special family members. It is also really nice that I am based in my area so I dont have to drive an hour to and from a job. Over all I am super happy that I found the job that I have and I am in a very good place.

I have a VERY nice job, school nurse! I get my summers off and all those vacations, and off every afternoon at 2:00! The parents can be a little nutso at times but all in all it's great! Plus almost ALL kids love cats, so I can talk about them and hang posters up. I don't think I would be as happy with those high school kids, mine are all elementary. I see about 50 kids a day, so I keep plenty busy.

I actually have 3 jobs.

Full Timer Graphic Designer- I love it.. though I choose to ignore my coworkers as they are full of gossip and constantly complains. I choose to keep to myself and not worry about whats going on. I do a lot of packaging designs for various companies (Walmart, CVS, Spirit/Spencers and so forth)- mainly for Halloween, Easter and Christmas. I also do a lot of image retouching.

Part Time Merchandiser/Sales at the Container Store. I go in at 5am twice a week to merchandise the store, and saturdays for a few hours for either sales or register. I LOVE the people I work with here. Everyone is so nice, they all work (unlike most retails where you get the lazy, no-personality teenagers who'd rather be on their phones all day)

Dog Walker/Pet Sitter as needed- Right now I have one steady client of walkign their cute boston terrier once a week. he often calls me to come in for a day or so to feed and walk. I would also pet sit other pets in my apartment complex as the needs arise.

and occasionally I'll get a freelance graphic website request. Not much since I really don't advertise this anymore.

I'm currently a stay at home mom, but I am looking to go back to work. I have an interview next Monday for an administrative assistant position at a church.

I'm an office manager for a mid-sized, fairly well known architectural firm in NYC. Been there for 5 years (nearly).  Have been doing this kind of work (or administrative in general) for architects for nearly 30 years.  Great firm, wonderful people, good benefits, etc. I love it.

I'm a library cataloger in a large public library, where I've worked all of my life.  We basically go through each book DVD, etc. with a fine toothed comb, extracting pertinent information, and use it to create online records. These form our "catalog", which is searchable by the patrons. Our library uses the Dewey Decimal System to create call numbers, for example, the cooking/food base number is 641.5. Types of cooking, or geographic locations are built onto that base number, after the 5.

I love detail oriented work, so I like cataloging. It's not exactly action-packed, I must admit, but I still like it!

I left a long career in therapy that I loved but latterly had a difficult time with colleagues and now work as a retail assistant in a small shop.  Love the job, the colleagues and the customers. Pay's rubbish but what's money if you're not around to enjoy it?

I've had a variety of background careers/jobs over the years. From hair dresser, to aesthetics & massage therapy, (Spas & Chiropractic offices)  to office manager.

Last spring after getting laid off from an office job, I started my own residential cleaning business, & have built it up in less than a year!

I like it. It's hard work, but I'm usually done by 2:00!  ...Then I can go home & relax!

l work in a cleanroom setting as an inspect and metrology person. We build many layers on silicon wafers, dice them into individual chips, which then go into cartridges used to test blood at the bedside, or point-of-care. l love my job. They're long 12 hour days, but l love the 4-on 4-off schedule. We get all our benefits paid, stocks, and the way our weeks fall means our weeks off are leveraged into good stretches of time.

This month marks 20 years that I've worked as a rural mail carrier. It has it good points and bad points. Good being the pay, going home when the job is done...not on a time schedule, great co-workers that I get along with. The bad, it's very physical and hard on an old lady's body, lol! There's also some interesting things to see on a rural rt, wildlife, horses, goats, ect.
