I am so beyond thankful that I found this site. I am a huge cat lover. We have 2 cats both are adopted from shelters. We actually just adopted the older one recently and I needed advice about the difficult introduction and how to help them get along with each other and I have found some very knowledgeable people and got great advice. I feel confident that I can make this work  while maintaining a safe and calm environment for both my cats. It is really great that I also have developed some new friends. I have moved several times due to my husbands work and I dont really make friends because of either work or like now I am staying home and working on college from the house. I never go out to meet anyone or have anyone to talk to really since life happened and everyone you feel like you will be friends with forever goes their separate ways. It is nice to get on to a site and be able to talk with people and get the advice you really need to  help with everyday cat troubles.

Thank you . He is a doll for sure. I am so happy our house is semi quiet and the cats are both sleeping and not stressed out as of right now!

Hi. Welcome to the site; beware, I have found it quite addictive!   I agree about this place being a great place for meeting friends as well as getting support and information about cat care.  What can be better than being surrounded by other people who love talking about and posting pictures of their cats and don't give out an imediate groan every time you want to tell everyone something about yours?!  Looking forward to learning more about your cats, and how they settle down and get along with each other.  @Gems Gem is spot on when she says the cat in your avatar is gorgeous,  I hope we see more pictures of both your boys soon.

I agree with the above, it is truly nice to have someone REALLY interested in what you want to say about your cats! My family does groan and say " is that ALL you talk about!" I hope you find a lot of friends and help at this site and there are several forums that don't talk about cats too, although I can't imagine that.
There are a lot of times my cats are more comforting then my family, I wish EVERYONE in the whole world would just stop being cruel to animals and treat everyone and everything nice, wouldn't THAT be nice! Anyway, we would all love to hear anything you've got to say! Again, welcome aboard!

Yes. Some people dont understand the way I am with my cats. They say they arnt kids but the are to me. My husband and I got married in March and we got surprised with an unplanned but very welcomed pregnancy. We lost our baby in june. I was 7 weeks along. When I lost my baby I was inconsolable. I had a very hard time not just mentally but physically . I had to have a d&c and several blood transfusions. When I was gong through all of this the thing that bothered me the most was all the time i had to spend alone .. My husband works long long hours and I was home 24 7 by myself. We had to move for his work and my family couldnt come and miss their jobs to be with me. When I adopted my Chu I wasnt alone anymore and even though he didnt know what I was going through exactly he was right there witih me. he laid with me and made sure I wasnt lonesome and believe it or not when I cry even now he lays on my chest and puts his head on my chin to try to cheer me up and console me. My cats really are my children!!!!

I think you have found a great place to be, here in TCS, and positive you will find more and more people you connect with as you post and read different threads.  No one here thinks seeing our cats as children or family is crazy; we all see our cats's and kittens' lives as precious, and you will be surrounded by others who feel that special bond and connection that you describe with Chu.  What an incredible year you and your husband have had: may bringing cats in to your lives continue to bring strength, purpose, comfort and happiness to you as they do for so many others here including myself.

Sadly Mouse doesn't do that comforting thing when I cry, he sort of looks at me and I can almost feel him sighing 'Oh no, here she goes again'!
