My 6 month old kitten has been acting really strange these past couple days.
She went from being cuddley towards me, to growling and hissing every time I hold her. She used to play more than sleep, now it's the other way around. She used to rub up against my leg when I would fill her food bowl up, now she meows from a distance. The most concerning thing is she meows before entering her litter box. Not while she's pooing or peeing and not after. Only before entering the box. I've owned 15 cats throughout my life, never have I seen this before.
Here's a couple factors that have recently changed: my husband and I recently came home from a 2.5 week vacation in Wisconsin to visit my family; we obtained a roommate after the trip; we have one other 4 month old kitten and they get along quite well; we're moving on February 1st; I'm 22 weeks pregnant.

Has she been spayed?  If not, I would say it's possible she is entering her heat cycle.  That will cause cats to act a little off.  It could also be the changes in the household, it may take her some time to adjust. You might want to consider getting some Feliway diffusers if you don't already have some.  The sleeping a lot could be a cause for concern, you might want to have her checked out by a vet.

It could be one of these recent changes but from what you say there is nothing that was immediately around when her behaviour changed and she and your new kitten arrival have appeared to be settling in well together.  It could be her going in to heat but I would want to look in to possible health issues rather than assume this,  Her behaviour sounds very like she could be in pain or unwell, and if she is meaowing when entering her litter box perhaps she is trying to tell you something?
