My cat started throwing up last night. At first just cat food and a hairball or two. Early this am he started throwing up clear and slimy. Then it was yellow and now a tang orange color. He wont eat and barely drinks. He just now used his litter box for the first time all day. For the past week he has been real cranky..hissing at my other two cats. I dont know what to do. Help me please.

No emergency vets?

An obstruction is caused by some matter (usually foreig but could be a hairball as well) that is preventing any food passing. It could also be ingestion of something toxic. Is it possible he ate or drank something he shouldn't have?

In either of these situations, there's not much you can do at home. Only a vet can help.

Call the vets in the area they usually have an after hours phone number where you can get a hold of someone.  Your cat needs to be seen by a vet BEFORE monday.

I agree also.  Look up your regular vet's office online.  Almost all have web sites these days and will typically list an emergency clinic to contact if it's after hours.

Please take your cat to an emergency clinic, it could be something serious.  Do not wait till Monday. I hope your cat will be alright. Best wishes.

Thank you guys so much. i just spoke to the vet and he said he would see him. Its so sad to be so attached to something and see it hurt and not know how to help it.

Oh no! I hope he doesn't have anything stopping him up... it's really scary when that happens! Good luck at the vet.

My baby is hopefully on his way to recovery now. They did blood work and it showed his kidneys to be good and no infection. Next xrays and he has something obstructing his bowels. They gave him a shot for the vomiting and a tube of lax'aire to help pass (hopefully) whatever it is. Also they rehydrated him because he was very dehydrated. So fingers crossed it all works

Many vibes for a quick recovery. I hope the obstruction is able to be passed.
