Hi everyone. I've just adopted a cat, and i'm very eager to feed her a raw diet (thinking of going the frankenprey route). anyhow, i know practically nothing about her past except that the person i got her from free-reign kibble fed her. well, that has stopped. i've had her for 2 days now, and already she is consistently eating the wet food i give her, and leaving the kibble behind. i take this as a good sign. anyhow, just for curiosity sake, today for 2 of her meals (i feed 3 times a day), i have added a couple of tiny little pieces of meat (beef kidney, beef stew meat, half a sardine and a little piece of pork meat) beside her wet food. just to see what she'd do. well... after a few hesitations, she wolfed them down! so now my question is... how do i go about transitioning her, or is it too soon, since i just got her? oh, and she is a 1 yr old dilute tortoiseshell.

I don't think it's too early to transition her if she likes raw. Just be very sure that you provide her a balanced raw diet. There are a lot of resources here for the various raw feeding options so you're providing the correct ratios (for frankenprey) or the right supplements (for ground raw). I'm about to transition my 8 month old kitten. I was going to start tonight but I unfortunately wasn't able to pick up my packages from the post office in time.

Did you feed raw scraps or cooked? It's a very good sign that she's not picky in general. I got soooo many different kinds of food, supplements and medications into my kitty without a fight.

There's a separate raw feeding forum on the site. The members there will get you started.
