Morning all!

I was filling out birthday reminders in my 2014 calendar, and I realized Monet is going to be 5 years old already! I feel like I just adopted him a year ago!

My question is: How old is your cat(s) and what age did you Adopt them at?

Holly is 4.  We adopted her from a friend at 15 or so weeks.  She was born in October and it was a little past Christmas when we brought her home.

Samwise is 9 months (at least I think so).  The shelter that we got him at in August had him down as 9 weeks when we brought him home.  But we had him neutered the next day and my vet said he was closer to 14 weeks.  That would make him a year in April of this year.

Most of the other animals we had have been brought home as kittens.  Jasper was 11 or so when we took him in for a neighbor.  He died when he was 12- vet gave his best guess as cancer.

BooBoo - will be 18 on February 13th. Whisper gave birth to him in a clothes basket in our bedroom, so he's never known anybody but us. He's the resident feline male of the house.

Ms. Pepe - will be 18 on February 13th. Whisper gave birth to her and she is BooBoo's litter sister.

Amber Louise - will be 11 years old on November 1. She's had us since she was a wee kitten of about 4 weeks or so.

Mollipop - will be four years old on February 8th. I've known her since she was about 3-4 weeks old as I met her at the vet hospital. She came home to us when she was seven weeks old.

Tabby - will be three years old in June. Another wee kitten, found in our neighbor's driveway and she's been with us since kittenhood.

Muffin - will be four years old at the end of January. She became part of our family when Mom went into a nursing home in September 2012.

Autumn was between 2 1/2 and 3 years old when I adopted her from a no-kill shelter.  Her Gotcha Day is Dec. 6th, 2008.

Our three are all about 10 years old right now. I don't really like that idea, but just worked out like that. We adopted them over a span of six years, too, Sparkle was 8 weeks, Lily was 2 years, and Tophel was (estimated) 4 when he joined us.

Good question!

Zoe and Rico will be four in September and we got them when they were 3 months old;

Ozzy will be four in June and we got him at six months;

Hannah and Molly are 10.

Jake will be 14 in the spring.

Travis is 17-1/2.

I know our friend got Hannah, Molly, Jake and Travis all as kittens from different rescue places and they lived with her their whole lives until she passed.  We've had them almost a year already now, I can hardly believe it!

Camelot will be six this June - adopted him from a neighbouring farmer when he was 8 weeks.

Morgana will be four this April 17th - she was born in our house, so had her since she was an embryo!

Momo is just over 3 months old and my fiancé and I adopted him on December 14th, 2013. Braved driving two hours in the first big midwestern blizzard and being stuck on the highway for 3 hours because of an overturned semi to get him.

Burt is my 'senior', he'll be thirteen April 1st, and has been a joy all his life, laid back and very lovey! He was born as a barn cat and I got him and his twin brother when they were barely 6 weeks old, His brother Ernie was killed by a neighbor dog when he was a year old, but the dog did end up getting shot for mauling other pets in the neighborhood. (yes, I had the sheriff out there several times, who kept telling me to shoot him, I couldn't, but SOMEBODY did!) And then there is Casper, my baby, who will be 6 in March. The naughtiest, most undisciplined cat I've ever had! He pays absolutely NO mind to any form of direction and does exactly what he pleases. But he has the most beautiful blue eyes and 'talks' to us all the time, so he gets away with a lot! He was born outside to a 'dumped' mom on our property in the well house, and I can tell you he 'insists' on going out every day, although he has supervision now (most of the time anyway). He is NOT shy at all!

Casper will be 13 early May of this year.  We adopted him when he was 9-1/2 years old from a very close friend who needed to rehome him due to life changes which were making it difficult to care for him.  He said it could be temporary if it didn't work out with us, but of course it did.  He's our Senior kitty, healthy as of last checkup (full bloodwork, etc.) but he has been slowing down and we've been noticing some minor behavioral changes due to this.

Cocoa, we don't really know her age.  The vet(s) estimated somewhere between 3-5 years old but we suspect on the younger side than older due to her personality.  We split the difference and say she's 4 lol.  We adopted her last December from a local rescue organization, so we've had her just over 1 year now.

l paid for my 3 current cats so they weren't adopted.

My previous cat Thai came from a shelter. They said they guessed his age to be 8 - 10, but when l took him for his first vet check, they said he was 10 - 12 and likely he was at the high end of that range. We split the difference and labelled him as 10. We had him for 8 more years and he passed in April of 2010.

Peanut is 13 and we got him from the shelter when he was about 2 months old.
Angel is about 6 1/2 years old and she was about 2 years when she won us over. We wanted a kitten, but she was out of her cage for exercise time the day we first visited. She was licking everyone in the family. Not all cats like kids so when you find one that wont stop licking them it's meant to be.

Mooch and Noodles will be 9 the end of next month.  We guessed their birthday as February 24th; based on when we adopted them and the age the shelter told us they were.  They were 11 weeks I think.

Angel was 5 when he adopted me.   (6 when we "made it official", by me taking him to the vet after hanging out here almost a year, & no one claimed him)

He's 9 now.
