My family and I have 3 wonderful cats all 2 years and younger. We first adopted Fiona when she was a kitten from our local no kill shelter. She was a small kitten and is like a tuxedo cat but her fur is more gray than black. Unfortunately she doesn't like my dad or myself so we adopted Otis. My sister and my mom went to adopt Otis without me or my dad. When they visited the shelter my sister fell in love with love Otis but the shelter said a family had a paid deposit almost a week ago and could pick him up until closing time that night.

But as it turned out when my mom called the next day to find out if Otis had been taken to his furever home he hadn't. I was very excited because my sister had said he was great. So soon my mom brought Otis home from the shelter and although I love Otis very much now I was very upset that my sister had picked out Otis because he was smelly, sickly, and just wasn't what I imagined. However, after a quick bath, I was very excited to play with him and see him be such an uncoordinated kitten. It took about a month to get him better we had to switch vets because the first vet was not helping him get healthy. He likely had the herpes virus according to both the vets, but he's never had a flare up again. Otis is now a very strong, happy, and healthy orange tabby. Also just to make sure guys don't think I'm heartless I think back on when Otis was sick and have a lot of sympathy and feel good that we took him home since in his condition he was not likely to be adopted soon.

Just this past September we adopted our third and final kitten named Joey. We decided Otis needed a friend because even though Fiona tolerates Otis she hisses and growls when he chases her or sometimes if he gets near her which happened a lot and still does. We thought a new friend for Otis would keep him occupied and thus Fiona would be bothered less. In end it worked out great Joey is our only lap kitty and he and Otis wrestle a lot. Fiona is still bothered by the boys but three cats is just the right amount for all of us. Also Joey has white mixed with orange fur just like Otis' fur.

We adopted Otis and Fiona when they were around 8-12 weeks and Joey when he was six months. Fiona is the oldest at 2 years, Otis is 1 year old, and Joey will turn 1 this March.

I've been reading a lot of articles and threads on this site and it seems great!
