About 2 1/2 weeks ago i noticed my cat had a patch of hair missing from her back left hip. It didnt look it was a hot spot or anything. It wasnt red or irritated looking, nor did she seem to even notice it. a few days later i noticed she seemed a little weird. Her left ear looked slightly different from the other. A few days after that i came home and noticed that her ear had drained, it was all crusty and such. So i figured that was why she looked kinda weird, still doesnt explain the hair loss though. So i cleaned her up and squeezed a little hydrogen peroxide in her ear. After that she seemed better, everything has been fine. Then about 2 days ago i noticed she was having trouble with her back left leg. She walks on it but keeps tipping over every couple steps. Shes fallen off the couch twice to my knowledge and landed on her side because she is not able to balance. I rubbed her hip and she didnt seem to mind, did not seem to be in pain. I am not sure what to do...i do not have enough money at the moment to bring her to a vet, my vet also does not take payment plans or else i would anyway. I am very worried about her. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I don't want you to think I am ignoring you when you say money is tight right now but she really needs to see a vet.  Her symptoms could mean anything, and could be cumulative in some way or unrelated.  Only a vet will be able to tell you this.

If you cannot afford a vet, there are resources available to you to ensure your cat gets the veterinary care. There is an excellent article titled “When You Can’t Afford a Veterinarian” on this website, available at http://www.thecatsite.com/Health/76/...erinarian.html. Please read through it to find out more about the options available to you.

I personally recommend and have had good experience with Care Credit.

Good luck and I am sorry your kitty is unwell.

Your kitty really needs a vet, check out the thread above, and maybe look into Care Credit.  Hydrogen peroxide is not a good idea as it is very caustic and causes a lot of pain when used.  If her eat was draining, something serious is going on with your kitty, please find a way to get her to the vet.

I'm with the others & am going to give a 3rd for the Care credit! I used it last year when my cat had cystitis & it afforded me to be able to get him the care he needed, even at the Animal Hospital on Christmas day a year ago!  payments are very low on it, so manageable.  (by low I mean like $25.00/month to start).

It was very helpful!!!!  You can go on line & apply. If you get it, you don't have to wait for the card to come, they give you a number to use @ the vets.

Please check it out now, so your baby can get the help she needs asap.

Good luck & keep us posted.

Sounds like some sort of inner ear infection which if left untreated could lead to further complications, including deafness ! Inner ear could also cause the imbalance problems you describe. You need to get this little guy to the ASAP !  Beg, borrow whatever it  takes and go now - before you find yourself at the cat ER which will REALLY COST YOU!  Can you write a post dated check?  You need to call vet to ask about payment options ( or call another vet !) and either go this afternoon or set up an appointment for tomorrow. You have committed to this little fellow and like a child , he depends on you!  I don't mean to lecture, but you have shopped for solution on this website- which looks like we all concur on immediate vet trip! Good luck - hopefully you can hook up with the financial help program that Angel's Mommy suggested.

Yes, I agree!  When I had to take Angel to the ER it was 80.00 just for the visit, vs/ 48.00 @ the regular vets. Not as expensive as I though it would be for the ER, but still expensive!!  Then meds, along w/ any test, & still have to follow up w/ the regular vet after.  Care Credit was the answer for me! I hope you have checked it out & applied.
