yesterday while sitting here at the computer.  I saw a black kitty from the corner of my eye outside of my mobile home.  She/he was playing and digging in the snow, it was so cute that I just kept watching this feral cat.

What was most interesting was that she was looking for a warm place or to just hide.  She got up against the mobile home next to mine and dug a hole in the snow so it surrounded her, that was a good way to keep the blustery winds away.

I have often wondered how cats survive in this cold, snowy weather...this may be one of the ways they do. Just found this very interesting since I've never seen this before.

Hmmm...kind of a kitty igloo?
The poor little thing--I hope she made it through this awful snowy and bitterly cold weather we're having in our area (I'm in SE PA).

For a few winters, I made and put out a feral cat shelter with water. I don't think I ever had any takers, though--even though I see what may be domestic cats who are allowed out at night. In this huge development, I figured that at least one household would leave their cats out at night or forget to bring them in, hence the shelter. I'm glad it wasn't needed!

What precious, sweet and beautiful kittens.

Sarah Jane was left out to die on a cold night, though nowhere as bad as that. How did the rotten piece of so-called humanity that dumped her expect her to find food? She was sick and weak. I often wonder what happened to her mommy and siblings, and pray that they are ok, though, given what was done to her, I highly doubt they are even still alive. BTW, she had her 2nd vet's appointment last week, and is up 1.5 lbs (she's now 3.5 lbs.!), very healthy and happy! She had most of her shots (too young for the rabies one; that's scheduled, though). She is such a little darling, and we adore her.  I wish the person who dumped her could see her now, though I doubt that anyone so evil would appreciate her. Sorry, you jerk--she WON; you LOST. She didn't die, as you intended.

I apologize for sounding so vicious, but I have no tolerance for people who abandon animals, especially tiny, helpless babies.
