So it seems that the shortage of prednisolone has finally hit my area. The vet gave me a weeks worth dose of the prednisolone chewables to see if pumpkin likes them. Has anyone had any sucesses with these or any issues. Pumpkin can be very picky when it comes to treats and the only one he really likes is the pure bites, which is a surprise cause he won't touch boiled chicken at all. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
thanks Jenn

The only thing I can say is to try them.  It seems like a lot of people here have the liquid.  My vet said the only way she could get it compounded locally was with the chewables.  She switched my kitty to dexamethasone the last time the shortage was this bad.  He has done well on it and she just kept him on it.  She did tell me that some kitties didn't do well on it.  If the chewables prove to be a no go with your kitty and the chewables is the only way your vet can get it then maybe you could bring up the dex to your vet.  It's a stronger steroid so the dose is much lower.
