Hi,
I was invited to this forum by Nicole (username German Longhair). I live with my familiy and my cats in Germany. For the last 5 years I've been breeding German Longhair cats.We run a small cattery and our nine cats are living in the house with us. I'm totally in love with this breed and my little furry kids.
Miyou:

Taran (CH Taranis von Sinthari) is a potent, 2 years old male:

Saphira is one of our queens:

Yeli (Quayeli von Germangora) is another:

Cheri (CH Cherimoya von Sinthari) will have her first litter in 2014:

Our youngstars are

Chini (Dalchini von Sinthari, 6 months, female)

Inola von Sinthari (4 months, female):

and Milo (Emilio vom Heidenbrink, 13 weeks old male)

Greetings
Silke

Wow, they're exquisitely beautiful cats! That last kitten (silver shaded?) is gorgeous.

Welcome to the forum, and thanks for sharing with us

Even in Germany they are a quite unknown breed. I would wish that more people know about this old and stunning breed.

Welcome toTCS!
I hope you will enjoy posting here, your cats are stunning and I look forward to seeing and hearing a lot more about them.  I am not usually a huge fan of longhair cats but these German Longhair really are handsome and I love their head shape and face. I too have looked up a little from the links that German Longhair provided in his earlier post in Ethical Breeding.  Sephira and Cheri are beautiful queens and I hope they have a healthy number of future litters to take this breed forward and we see further recognition for them.   I doubt anyone could help falling in love with those three kittens but I have to agree with Andrya, Milo has a piece of my heart. I hope their personality matches their looks.

As kitten German Longhairs are playfull, active and curious like all kitten. When they are grown up most German Longhairs are layed back, tender and cuddly. None of my cats is excessively talkative and they have soft voices.

Wow! How interesting!  I though firstly it was German Shepherd, the longhair variation - this is a new cat breed instead!!!

Please present your breeding in our Breeding forum too!

Is any association recognizing you, or are you mostly experimental as yet?

Its also interesting there are several different colors, even a point.

Welcome!

The German Longhair has been a recognized breed in the first half of the 20th century. After WW II there were only very few pedigree cats left and the two longhair breeds Persian and German Longhair were bred again under the former common name "Angora". In 1965 the breed was renamed in Persian and since there were only very few German Longhair breeders remaining the German Longhair wasn't included into the list of recognized breeds again. In 2012 the WCF and many independent German clubs re-recognized the breed to full championship status.

BTW in Germany there is a dog breed with the same name - the Deutsch Langhaar. It's a hunting dog.

I will write more about the breed in the Breeding Forum as soon as I will be allowed there.
