Hi flamingo1981.

The room looks fine, I've had my new foster kittens in the bathroom for the part month, just finished introducing them to the rest of the family this week so they now have the run of the house. Right at the end of your movie you pan up to a few lose wires. I couldn't really tell how high these are but it might be a good idea to cover them. Try taping a big sheet of cardboard over them with some duct tape, just in case the kittens try to climb up there and pull the wires down.

I think making the bed in the shower would be fine, as long as the shower doesn't drip. A big cardboard box with the lid closed and a hole cut in the side will make them feel safe. My foster kittens got a hot water bottle at night too. I guess it must be very cold in your area?

I found the easiest way to give them medicine and eye drops was to wrap them up in a towel. My kittens are small enough to pick up with one hand, so I'd pick them up with one hand under their belly then wrap a towel all around them so that just their heads were poking out. Is doxy liquid or tablets? Liquid medicine you can squirt into the side of their mouth using a syringe. For tablets, hold the kitten with his or head tilted back, wait until they mew then drop the tablet as far back into their mouth as you can. If you gently stroke their throat it will encourage them to swallow. I found eye drops were sometimes a two person job, especially with the more fidgety kittens. One person to hold the kitten, one to gently open their eye and put the drops in.

Thank you for helping them, I'm looking forward to seeing some pictures of them as they grow.

thanks i just have one cat but she can get into the roof and is able to go anywhere in the house through the walls, she llike lives there and is like 8 years old, she will be able to see the kittens from up high but she wont be able to come in contact, I hope that wont be a problem? She might just spy on them through the roof.  I can hear her following me around the house through the roof sometimes.

also they are DMS does that mean domestic medium hair?

one is 16 weeks other is 18 weeks hopefully still okay to socialize

they have  URI/conjunctivitis is my cat at risk?

poor cats

forgot to say that cieling is 7.5 feet up there is no way to climb up there they would have to jump, that is the roof that is where my current cat sometimes shows up and stares at people using the bathroom, but she will never jump to the ground.

ive given eye drops to my dog before i thought that was the most easy? I never did it with a cat, I wont have any help i live alone.

The existence of the carrier state is particularly important for shelters that do not euthanize for overcrowding or disease control. Animals that have recovered from acute infections will continue to shed virus and therefore remain infectious for the duration of their stay in the shelter.

Herpes:
Most cats that have recovered from herpes will be carriers of the virus for life and shed it intermittently under normal conditions or during times of stress. This shedding can begin a week after the stressful incident and continue for 3 weeks afterward.

Calici:
In the case of calici virus, some cats that have recovered from infection will shed the virus continuously for the rest of their lives without regard to stress. Fortunately most cats do eliminate calici virus from their bodies eventually.

Bordetella and chlamydia:
It is believed that there is a carrier state with bordetella and chlamydia, but the mechanisms are not entirely clear yet.
Probably smarter to put them in the empty bedroom upstairs rather than anywhere near my current cat.  I will also take my cat to the vet asap to get the vaccination.

Just to be on the safe side, I would definitely keep your cat separated from them.  DMH is domestic medium hair - not quite long but not short, either.

Good luck and thank you for fostering them!

So you have a ceiling cat? So jealous!

Yes, those eye infections can be nasty so it would be a good idea to keep your cat away from them.

If you're putting in eye drops by yourself, wrap the kitten up in a towel then secure the towel with a clothes peg so they can't wriggle free. I used to kneel on the floor with the kitten held between my legs. If they try to back away from the eye drops they can't go far as they back into you and you still have a hand free to squeeze the drops in with.

Good luck.

hey i did not need to wrap them up they are just insanlly friendly towards me which is strange i did not think they would be climbing all over me and snezing on me the first day?

they just let me put the eye drops in with no fuss, more easy than my own cat

when i first got them they were scared and one was defensive i just did opposite of what a predator does and kept ignoring them

That's great!
