Cindy is back at the hospital getting another ultrasound.  If it looks like enlarged lymph nodes or anything they think might be the cancer is back, they'll aspirate.  She's also getting a feeding tube.  I'm so scared and sad, I don't know what to do with myself.  Trying hard to hold myself together for her sakes, but I just want to go crawl under the covers and cry myself into a coma.

I am sorry you and your kitty are going through this.  Please don't give up hope.  As far as the feeding tube goes kitties tolerate it very well.

Thank you!

Hospital just called, and Cindy's ultrasound was "fairly normal."  They did a biopsy on her spleen, just given her history of mast cell.  We will get instruction on the feeding tube.  I'm a little nervous about the feeding tube, but I hear they're fairly common and can be a lifesaver.

Feeding tubes are easy to use and I am sure they will show you how.  The main thing is to take it really slow when feeding.  Room temperature food works the best so food from the refrigerator will need to be heated up a bit.  They had me mixing A/D half and half with water.  I would just mix up what I needed for one feeding at a time that way I could use very warm water with the food out of the refrigerator so it would be the right temperature.

Glad to hear the ultrasound went okay.  Feeding tubes are generally really easy to do.  Denice gave you some awesome tips for the feeding tube.

Thanks, Denice.  They gave us a can of CliniCare liquid diet to mix with two cans of Iams Intestinal Plus.  We are starting with 20 ml 3 x a day, so I mixed it up and put it in the refrigerator, and I'll warm up the next one.  She was pretty okay, but got away from me twice.  I hope she realizes it's not a big deal and doesn't try to get a way.  Right now it was a two person job, I had to hold her and DH gave her the food.  I just hope this works.  It's really sad to see her with that tube coming out of her, but it's preferable to the alternative which would be just watching her waste away.

Thank you for your good wishes.  We will not give up hope for sure. I just hate to see her going through so much, but we have some awesome vets are helping us and they said to call anytime day or night if we have questions.

The biopsy of her spleen came back okay - no cancer found.  The only other test they might want to do is a colonoscopy.
