It's been snowing for about 3 hours now--we have about 4-5" of snow, with more to come overnight. The wind chill tomorrow is supposed to be -6F, and I heard that it will be -15F this weekend.I hope work is closed tomorrow, so I don't have to drive down the mountain in that snow!

We got a little bit of snow, but it was really wet and dense. My husband slid his car into a ditch on the way home and had to walk the last mile, up a very steep hill and lugging groceries. He wasn't thrilled. With the windchill, the temp is in the high teens.

Over the river and through the woods...
It came down pretty good all day at work, including little snow balls (sleet) that bounced. Snow is not supposed to bounce. I hate driving in this stuff and I was panicking but by the time I reached the main roads they were clear. I hate where my work is located because all you have to go by is the parking lot, and they don't take care of it! Anyway, it wasn't too bad getting home (only place I slid was on my dirt road lol) but it's still coming down, alternating between snow and sleet, so who knows if I can get out my road tomorrow. I have a fairly steep hill I have to get out to get to the secondary road, to get to the main road, to get to a state that actually uses salt. Sometimes living in West Virginia is not a good thing...

It is coming down hard still and WINDY.  The area in front of garage is covered by 5 feet or so and it is on garage door adn front door.

Took dog out and outside cat who was in ran out and it was past her belly/mid chest.  She came right back in and sat in front of the good heater.  They plowed the main road I can see from my house 2 times already going like they do on major roads one behind the other but a little more to the right.  3 plows and salt truck

Snow is pretty much done here, other than on-off showers throughout the morning. It's light stuff, not dense at all, so shoveling and sweeping won't be too bad. But it's really cold and windy. We were around 5 when Rick brought me into work this morning. Wind chill is at -7, so it's not good. We were thinking of just letting the driveway go, but we're to get more snow/sleet/freezing rain on Sunday and that will just make it worse (it's too cold to melt on its own), so we'll have to do something.

About 4-5 inches here. It's not the amount of snow; it's more the wind and cold. We're more worried about losing power than anything with the way the wind is howling.

Like many of you, our problem isn't the main road; it's getting to the main road. No matter how we go, we have steep hills that we have to get up and down. The township is usually pretty good and so is PA DOT as a rule, but when it doesn't stop snowing, they can only do so much. We will be driving on washboard roads for awhile, I'm afraid.

I made it home OK yesterday, no sliding, thankfully. Hannah (Tucson) is pretty good in the snow. But I still don't like driving in the stuff.

Ugh, woke up to -3 (-20 C) degrees this morning, and what do I find? The boiler in my apartment is down, so it's 64 (17 C) degrees inside. Luckily mine is in the basement floor, so there's some heat still - the folks upstairs have it worst.

It's 16(F) and feels like 0 here.  It's sunny but windy so it's blowing all the snow all around.  DH wore lots of layers to work today.  He got to go in late at least.  I took lots of pictures of the snow last night and this morning.

I kept looking out back watching that tree branch hang lower and lower.

Some of my kids outside toys.

Noodles and I were sitting here when we heard a "ker-snap!"  Down came the branch!  It sounded like something hit the house at the same time but its not anywhere near it.  Noodles was all riled up and started running around the house.  Mooch joined in a short time later too.  I know I heard another branch come down in the opposite direction; but I can't see where.  It was on a neighbor's property; which is totally edged in tall pines.  The wind has now blown all the snow off them; they looked like a saggy wall of snow last night!!  Wish I could have gotten a picture.

There is snow inside the bird feeder!!

I've got more visitors than usual this morning!

My garden is a bit buried back there!

Look how much accumulated on the baby swing (blue thing).  If my kids convince me to take them out today; they'll be flying down that slide in their snow pants!  Quite literally!!

Woke up to find out we got plowed by 9 am.  Impressed as usually it is over a day before they come.  Roads are best they can be and easily drivable.  The wind is something else as it is blowing so much back onto the driveways/road.  We lost internet for about 4 hours but running strong now.  VERY shocked we did not lose power.  husband is doing the driveway now and being rewarded with brownies:)
