So excited! There's a cat-related domain name that's taken that I really want, but now it's up for auction! Auction ends on 6th, and there are very few views and no bids. I'm eating ramen for the next 3 months to get this domain name, but it's going to be so worth it.

No, there isn't much point to this thread. :D

I know exactly how exciting that can be, and what a good domain name can be worth.  I just bought a new one (for personal reasons) myself, and it brings such a thrill :)  Good luck, hope that you get it.

The best of luck to you! I've had my rugcats domain now since the very early 2000s and, since it's all about the cats, it's perfect for them. Will you buy some web space, too, and start a page for them?

That's not funny!
I know. I'm so livid now.

There is a .net version of my domain name. I'm really not a big fan of .net though. I just feel like it's not as "oomph". I'm going to commercialize the website, so "name brand" is rather important. I wonder if .net is really that bad though.

As someone that only surfs and isn't really involved with the background logistics behind it, I would try to get the .com. If does have more oomph to the casual surfer.

After saying that, I think my husband bought a domain last year and it was a .net. :lol3:

I have both for my domain name....com and .net, simply to stop somebody else from taking them. I don't use the .net one, but I'm keeping it anyway. If you're going to commercialize your site, it really should be .com. Just my two cents.

Almost 90 days later and it seems someone placed a bid higher than I did, so the domain is sold.

It was kittypedia.com that I wanted.  The .net is still available though. Still not a fan.

Ahhh, Cory, I'm sorry. I was wondering how you were making out with this and thought about PMing you yesterday. I'm sorry it didn't work out.
