Errands: banking, Target, etc. The usual Friday night stuff.

This morning, I must call to reserve a rotiller for the garden. We are planning to start the garden on May 10, weather permitting. I need to reserve it or we won't get one. (We should probably just buy one and get it over with, but we only use it twice a year).

I need to fill spice bottles tonight. I was looking for rosemary last night when making chowder and my jar was empty. So I had to root through my Penzey bags to find the rosemary. Time to do the bottles.

Neat bag! I'll have to look for something similar to that for my sister's birthday. We always exchange a small cat-related item (coffee mugs, bags, just little things, but nothing real expensive). And then we go out for Chinese for her birthday and Mexican for mine. Her birthday is in May, so I have some time yet.
  • Bake some snickerdoodles and another kind of cookie (not sure what kind yet, but I'm thinking of something with peppermint chips). We have a road trip coming up and I can bake them today and get them into the freezer. Must also bake some chocolate crinkles; our grandson is playing flag football now (he is 7) and we're going down on Sunday afternoon to see a game. I always take chocolate crinkles for the children when I visit. They love chocolate and they love the crinkles. So this afternoon is going to be spent baking in the kitchen.
  • A quick vacuum and dusting about the house
  • Wash the bed linens this morning

@Tammat   that is a very nice bag!

Today I:

Went to work.

Tried a cup of lavender tea for the first time - surprisingly nice.

Had a brief snuggle from Mouse before he got bored and sloped off to look out for mice in the kitchen...

I made snickerdoodles and  peanut butter chocolate chunkers for our road trip and the chocolate crinkles for the grandchildren yesterday.

While I was working in the kitchen, dear Richard mowed our lawn for the first time this year. I love the smell and the look of a freshly-mowed lawn. I think it looks no neat and tidy and it smells so good. The birds come in to check for bugs while the grass is short. He had to jump the battery and we have two front tires on the lawn tractor that need to be replaced, but it worked out OK.

Today....
  • Working on some laundry this morning, while Rick lounges in bed for a while
  • Going to watch our grandson's flag football game. I was a little surprised that his parents are allowing him to play football; I thought they'd push him toward soccer. But he wants to try football, so we'll see. He's seven years old and I just glad he's being active in any kind of sports. (Our son played football all through school and won a scholarship for college. It wasn't a big scholarship, but every bit helps with college funds.)
  • Doing my nails tonight

I love the fresh cut grass smell too! I'm moved out for the first time and am stuck in a 10th floor apartment in a big city near a highway and airport, so I don't get the luxury of the frequent smell of fresh cut grass like when my dad did yard work back home. :( I'll probably miss that a lot in summer! I'm largely stuck with traffic stink.

I'm going to...

- Eat ice cream for breakfast (hey, it's healthy. It's mostly just bananas and strawberries, no sugar added, and it was homemade last night!)

- Either start learning how to rig 3D characters or sculpt in 3D. They both require so much motivation, but I need to push myself to do it ASAP or my summer is going to fly by and I won't learn anything...

- Attend a "high tea" with a bunch of other art-type ladies downtown, just hanging out and talking. I need to bring a snack to contribute, but I've no idea what yet.

Yes, nothing better than the smell of fresh cut grass....it is so intoxicating.  [email protected] think we should both send in a request to the "glade air refreshener" people and ask for a patent design of a new air freshener called "fresh cut grass"....lol

I have never seen one,  but I hope that if they do make it, we don't all get overloaded by the smell, and then not like it anymore.   (my favorite right now is "rain forest").

Hi, @pinkdagger...I am not really sure what "high tea" is ( I picture white gloves, and ladies having tea)...

but if you want some great recipes, check out this Group on TCS  here:

  http://www.thecatsite.com/groups/show/151/the-recipe-exchange

It has a whole bunch of threads on desserts and stuff.

My 3 things, today, on sunday,
  1. rest
  2. relax
  3. read things on TCS
(I love sundays)

lol, we like to pretend we're that fancy. A bunch of women ages 20-50 stuffing their faces, chugging tea, and talking about comic books and the art industry, the art schools in the area, sometimes gossiping and whatnot. It's like guys going out and pounding back some brews, but a few of us are alcohol-intolerant or non-drinkers anyway, so midday tea it is!

Thanks for the link! I'll have to make some notes before I head out grocery shopping today!

Get through my Monday

Grab a few groceries; it's basically cat food as it's on sale this week -- time to stock up a bit

Scoop, scoop, scoop

A load of laundry washed and hung up to dry.

Tidied up clothes and got them hung up in my wardrobe.

Phoned my mom.
