- Clean the bird cages (probably while dancing to old Spice Girls songs. Ugh, I feel so old listening to their songs, lol!)

- Cook up and mash some sweet potato to store before it goes bad.

- Was going to go to life drawing with a flakey friend, but I'm so afraid of being stood up by him downtown in an unfamiliar area that I think I'll be the flaker today. I've too much other stuff to do at home, so I'll just do some drawing or 3Ding instead.

Posted a parcel to my friend - a birthday present which is now more than 2 1/2 weeks late.

Went to work for the afternoon which involved a walk there and back.

Did a small food shop on my way home and remembered to buy milk for my cereal in the mornning.

Better late than never. I always send a Honey Bun Cake to my friend in Minnesota for his birthday at the end of February. This year, I was about a month late, but he did finally get it. He said he wasn't worried....he knew I'd do it sooner or later. (He always gets cookies from me at Christmas and his cake for his birthday. In return, I get a huge package of Minnesota wild rice and a couple quart jars of this absolutely wonderful BBQ sauce that a friend of his makes. That stuff is decadently good; unfortunately his friend refuses to part with his recipe.)
  • Trash night, so cleaning the litter boxes
  • Two small loads of laundry (I separated it in piles in the hallway this morning and Muffin is hidden in the dark pile; all I can see is a buff-colored tail)
  • Weeding in the garden (a never-ending job)

@catsallaround I hope something works out for the sick kitty.

Today I'm going to:
  • go through my house and develop a list of "this stays" and "this goes"
  • call a local animal rescue (large animal like horses, goats) and give my old tack trunk, buckets, and farm stuff to
  • sign a lease on my new house

Grocery store trip for some really good deals.  Probably going back on Friday and again on Saturday with husband.  Went very fast even though it was pretty crowded for time I went.

Cat rooms.  I have been doing bare minimum past few days and will now pay for that!

Enjoy some ice cream outside when sun goes down a bit. Or pizza if I can convince husband:p

I hope my good friend is as patient and understanding as you guys @Winchester  and @catsallaround.

Today I spent my morning relaxing with Mouse who was in a very cuddly mood from when he woke up, went to work for the afternoon,  and then came home and had more cuddles and a bit of play with Mouse.  Poor boy is going to have me on holiday for the next 9 days so he'll have to get used to being pestered.

@peaches08 new house, how exciting!!

- Spent the morning on a parrot forum trying to help some other semi-local users narrow down where another user may be hospitalized, and find rescues that would be willing to take her ill birds in to be vetted and cared for. Terrible situation! :\

- Worked. Manager is going on a month-long vacation to visit her mother back in the Philippines so one other new girl and I will be splitting our shifts for the "full time".

- Currently watching a documentary, Living With Dead Hearts - about the child trafficking in China. Not sure why I do this to myself.

Catsallaround, how is your sick kitty?

Peaches, figuring out what stays and what goes is always fun. When Rick and I were first married, we moved around quite a bit. As a result, we never really collected much because we were always separating stuff for the next move. We've been in our house now since 1985, and our basement looks it. There's always a landfill pile of stuff that we can't keep. Rick will be going to the landfill at the end of the month. Right now we're also creating an electronics pile: old router, old Nook, old computer, things like that. Recycling event will be in October, so we have a while yet. Have fun with separating!
  • Gardening tonight (I was going to weed last night, but I got home and I swear the grass grew about six inches in one day! All it needed was a day of sun. Had to mow the yard last night.)
  • Clip claws and clean Tabby's ears. We had just done it a couple weeks ago, but Mollipop used me as a trampoline to get to the back of the couch last night and those claws seemed pretty sharp....at least my stomach thought so. And Muffin needs a good brushing; she has short fur, but it's very thick and dense. There's blond cat fur about the living room. She doesn't mind being brushed and combed, thank goodness. When we first got her, she fought me; Mom had never brushed her and she had no idea what I was trying to do to her. But when she realized that brushing is the price a cat pays for living here, she decided to deal.
As I tell her every time we brush, it could be worse.
And that might be pretty much it.

Not too much tonight:
  • Work in the garden a wee bit
  • Scoop the boxes
  • Would like to hit Lowes, but may do that tomorrow (We need to re-attach the gate to the pool fence. Rick has decided he'd like to make the gate two pieces, so we need hinges and such. And a new lock).

@pinkdagger geez I hope people were able to help with the birds. Sounds awful.

I didn't get the lease signed the other day, there were such bad storms that she was afraid to drive.  But we'll get it done today.
  • Sign new lease
  • Do some measuring to see what will go where in the new house
  • Gather up some clothes for Goodwill.

Start washing litter boxes to ease up tomorrows chore load.

Run for some fruit and few other things.  May wait as stomachs not good at all.  But a plum sounds so tempting....Well so did breakfast to:S

Convince cat that he will not starve if he does not see his dry food.  Anyone want to try to get him to eat a LICK of wet?!  He is a cute thing about 8 yo. Has siamese legs attached to the largest frame you ever saw:)

Vacuumed the apartment.

Sorted out a big pile of old paperwork and shredded 4 carrier bags worth.

Major recycling trip.  Took all the shredded paper, more paper that didn't need shredding, and 2 large boxes Mouse has been playing in for the last couple of weeks up to the local recycling centre.  Yey, tidy sitting room and space in my cupboards!
