Rick always says that I'm a very bad patient, too. I can't stand being down and am always looking for something to do. He'll do the basement steps for me when he's around; when he's not, I just take my time. We did put a small box at the top of the steps to put stuff in that has to go downstairs....then we take the whole box of stuff to the basement. The cats love the box; Muffin and Tabby are fighting over who gets to sleep in it now.

  • Hair appt today right after work
  • Scoop boxes
  • A quick vacuum in the living room and kitchen

  • A trip to the supermarket for lemon extract, bacon, butter beans, and kidney beans....I'm making crock pot beans for the picnic on Friday.

Nothing much here. Just so you guys know, I'm Muslim. so if you're fasting it's hard to do much:
  • cleaned around the house
  • bought a new bed for my cat
  • about to watch tv now

Welcome to TCS, Dalya!
If your avatar is your kitty, he or she is just adorable!

  • Bake cookies tonight
  • Wash the bathroom rugs (thanks to one of the cats who had a cling-on this morning and decided to get rid of it on the rugs. The rug is soaking for the day.)
And I think that's going to be it.

- Feed the birds.

- Head downtown for a meeting.

- Work. Anticipating getting yelled at today because I stayed WAY late (an hour) last night, and my accounts weren't balanced since I didn't know how to fix them.

........

Now why did you go and do a crazy thing like that?
The need for delivery drivers to get access to the block - and I'd just ordered a shelving unit for the room I rent out, and more importantly the latest 10 kilo batch of Mouse's biscuits / kibble.

Peeled what felt like a tonne of potatoes this morning.

Afternoon at work.

Friend round for an evening meal - hence peeling all those potatoes.   Friend very happy that I had finally got my doorbell sorted so she didn't have to phone me to get let in to the block.

Got my cookies baked last night (and it was HOT in the kitchen last night! I was glad to be done with them.)
  • Frost the cookies and make the crock pot beans and the salad for our picnic tonight
  • One load of laundry
  • I'd like to wire-brush the front door and get it ready for painting. For years, our front door has been a reddish color; our house has light blue siding. Well, we're changing to a dark (not quite navy) blue color, and depending on how it looks, we may change our house shutters to match the door. We need a good 2-3 days of no rain, though, as the front door will have to be removed to dry.

Yum! Now I want cookies. It's COLD here today (well, cold for July - 18 Celsius!), so I'd welcome having the oven on to give me some warmth.

Today, I have
- Tweety's vet appointment

- Work

- Draw! I haven't drawn in so long

The lemon cookies are truly TDF. They are just scrumptious. Nice and soft and the frosting is yummy.

The peanut butter ones, not so much. The cookies themselves are OK, I guess, but many of them broke in storage overnight and I don't know why (I do think our insane humidity played a role; it was crazy sticky last night.) . I did get a good two dozen good cookies. Frosted them with the peanut butter frosting, which I think is way too sweet. The chocolate glaze over the frosting tamped down the sweetness of the frosting, so that was good. Rick loves them, but he's a big fan of peanut butter cookies. I'll see what everybody thinks tonight. (Rick took some up to his parents this morning; his mom called and said they were "Deeeelicious!"
They like them both, Rick's dad preferred the peanut butter and his mom loved the lemon.)

I have a different peanut butter frosting recipe that I normally use for a cake and maybe I should have just gone with that one instead. It's not too sweet and it's a whipped frosting, which makes it fluffy.

I love peanut butter cookies, but I find because they're so soft and chewy, they fall apart really easily. I seldom frost cookies though - I can't be bothered, and I can't trust myself to let them cool or hang around long enough to get frosted.

Lemon is so great for summer. I'll have to try that recipe you posted... maybe I'll do that today before I go to work actually! I'm starving!

...with the cats...
i made oatmeal peanut butter cookies from a recipe i found online. this was several months ago. i really liked the texture of them with the oatmeal in them, and they didn't crumble as much as regular peanut butter cookies.

today snick had her sub-q's, her pills, and some light brushing.

i washed the dishes, scooped the litter boxes, and took the trash out.

this afternoon i'll be doing some figuring with my budgets, and possibly writing up my shopping lists for july 12th.

To do after work:

Wash the pans in the sink--they are very new half sheet pans so I don't want to ruin the finish in the dishwasher.

Laundry

Vacuum all the floors.
