contractor came out to look at a window (to be replaced, including framing on wall and complete sill) and do an estimate. we also discussed screening in the deck and adding a roof over it, plus replacing one window (overlooking the deck) with a door.

gave snick her sub-q fluids and pills.

and "the usuals" -- did the dishes, cleaned the litter boxes and tidied the bathroom and hallway floors, took out the trash and recycling.

later today i'll be looking at my budget again, planning the order of the upcoming home improvements.

This made me laugh, l went through the same thing with the truck.

Both my Hondas have the gas cap on the driver's side. l got out to pump in the new truck and had to get back in to find the cap release

- Litter boxes full dump and scrub day.

- Move stacked hardwood downstairs until it's going to be installed.

- Put foam boards up on my bedroom windows to black them out. l start my first night shift tomorrow night and l need absolute darkness to fall asleep.

I never had a vehicle with a gas cap release, so the first time I put gas into Hannah, I had to go rooting around looking for it.
  • Bake a pan of applesauce brownies
  • Tonight is trash night, so clean out the litterboxes
  • 3 small loads of laundry (or one large and one small load, depending on how I feel)

this morning i did "the usuals" (ie, cleaned litter boxes, took trash out). and i moved a pie crust dough disc from the freezer to the fridge, to thaw.

i called the contractor re giving the go-ahead to get the window replaced asap.

this afternoon i wrote up my list of things to do for tomorrow, and printed out the new recipe i'll be making tomorrow (for blueberry crumb pies).

Oh. My. Gosh.
 Please save me a slice.

The local weatherweenies are calling for rain and t-storms today and tonight (it's raining now). I don't think I'm going to do much when I get home today.

Make dinner

Scoop boxes

And I think that's pretty much it.

Thanks! I did find the gas cap!!! :woo: :lol3: It was nice filling up a smaller tank.

For the second day in a row I have people here putting a new roof on. It's very disconcerting. :cringe: yesterday I really couldn't get anything done. We'll see how today goes.

the blueberry crumb pies turned out excellent. they're just like apple crumb pie, with the crumb topping. i'm still working through last years blueberries (that i picked and froze). it rained here for the better part of the day. that's why i did my baking, made a batch of potato cheese soup, made some hummus, cleaned and did laundry today -- all indoors things.

I still have a ton of blueberries in our freezer, too. My favorite blueberry recipe is for blueberry buckle....a coffeecake with blueberries and a crumb topping. I will also get a dish full of berries from the freezer and sit and eat them as a snack. And make blueberry orange muffins. Or Alabama Blueberry Bread. But my favorite is always buckle.

Tonight:
  • Make a quick run to the grocery store for fresh strawberries
  • Make another Strawberry Dream Cake to take over to my sister's picnic on Saturday night
  • Make a batch of snickerdoodles for my niece; it's her favorite cookie, so I keep them around when I know she's coming in to visit

Working on laundry (just changed the bed sheets, so must wash them as well). Need to do a quick vacuum about the house while Rick is at church.

I think Buford and I will be mowing the lawn this afternoon (I'm going to put a trash bag over Buford, so he doesn't get all dirty and leafy. He's all Velcro straps and he's already got cat hair on him from the cats nosing around)

Manicure tonight

oh Canada~
Just got told I'm off the hook for going to my boyfriend's father's day get together (he would have had to doubleback north an hour to pick me up and drive back south 2 hours - he's went to go visit a friend near the halfway point), soooo...

- Clean the apartment. Just swept, and will be mopping after my shower.

- Had a Father's Day Skype conversation with my daddy. We all got together last week for my family.

- Write an online test. Hoping it'll be quick.

We desperately need to do laundry. I don't think we've washed anything in over a month, since neither of us goes out everyday so we seldom have stuff to wash... it's piling up though.

@Winchester, I hope everyone knows who Buford is or they're going to be mighty curious about why you're going to put a trash bag over him!

I've got a feeling we are all going to become very well aquainted with Buford Boot over the next few weeks.

Today I:

Went to work for the afternoon.

Laundry (again)

Had a very nice evening meal with my lodgers / flat mates.

Good point!!

1. Church

2. Father's day dinner with my husband and step-dad at a local Mexican place.  (My 2 year old son had his first experience with brain freeze there today when he took too big a bite of ice cream.  I'll never forget the look on his little face...he was looking at my mom and I like "what is happening to me!?!"  Poor baby!
I feel guilty for laughing when I know it hurt but his expression was just priceless!  He was done with the ice cream after that.  Daddy finished for him.
)

3. I napped.  It was glorious.  I think I was made to nap.
I'd nap every day if I could.

Bless his heart....his first brain freeze!
And probably his first of many!

  • We need to grab some groceries tonight. It's a large list, too, because I haven't gotten much the last few weeks.
  • Work in the garden.....must be careful with the trash bag over Buford; he gets slippery on the grass!
(Our neighbors were outside yesterday when I was out mowing. Didn't take him long to walk over to Rick and ask him "What the heck did she do NOW?" I didn't quite know how to take that when Rick told me. He also told Rick that he likes to watch me mow the yard....he saw me tapping the steering wheel in time to the music and sometimes I'm singing along. He said that I must really like to mow grass.
I do. I love mowing the yard. And I miss the music....since I'm not walking and since I'm not driving back and forth to work, there's no music. I miss the music. Silly, I know. But I do.)
  • Buford and I are going to try the elliptical tonight, I think. The worst part is going to be getting on and off the thing, but Rick said he'll help me. Buford is very ungainly sometimes.

  • I'm headed out to grocery shop with both my kids and no backup.  I'm procrastinating on that by posting here; which won't help in the end because it just makes everything closer to nap and lunch time.  Yet here I sit.
  • Laundry.  My husband had specific requests with getting his workout stuff washed.
  • I'd like to clear off my kitchen table today.  I have a bunch of stuff that just needs to be put away and sorted.  But man Mooch looks like she needs a snuggle.  She's sleeping near me with her paw over her nose.  It's hard to resist....
