Name three things that you will do or have done today -

We are going to take down our Christmas decorations today, but Rick would like to keep the living room Christmas tree up until the weekend. We took the Tacky White Tree down yesterday.

Followed by a vacuuming throughout the living room.

And a good manicure tonight. I had some sparkly nail polish on now for the last two weeks and I finally took it off on Sunday night. Sparkly polish is a real bugger for me to get off and I finally ended up filing some of it off. Not good for the nails. And from all the red, they're discolored, too. So I went from Sunday night until tonight with no nail polish at all to give my nails a chance to breathe. But I need to get some polish on them soon or they're going to break or split. They need to be cut down a little, too, as they're getting overly long. I like longer nails, but not claws.

And then back to work tomorrow.

Since I got very little sleep last night thanks to fireworks and a very scared cat, I've vegetated today, mainly in front of the computer. :lol3: Basically I've managed to

  • take a shower and get dressed
  • do some clicker training with Mogli and
  • post here.

- A little bit of 2014 housekeeping here in the Lounge :lol3:

- Make sure we are ready for the 12-17" inches of snow they are predicting. Every time I hear the forecast the totals are higher. Hopefully, they are overestimating. :cross:

- Run out and pick up a few things for my niece for her birthday.

Oh dear. What a way to start the New Year.
I woke early with blighty playing with his little soft ball on top of me so I removed him and went back to sleep
:blush2:
When I got up I took off my bandage and put it onto the washing machine with some other things and now it's clean and back on my wrist.
Been on Internet all day.
A fruitful day.

What a busy start to the year.

So far:

I went to bed in the small hours of the morning (not that I'd been out anywhere but there were loads of noisy fireworks going off everywhere).

Got up in the small hours of the afternoon to the sound of Mouse asking me to get up - that's a first by the way, he usually waits patiently on the bed until I move, but it was kind of late!

Had cuddle sessions with Mouse who's in cute cuddly mode today and currently snoozing on a fleece next to me on the sofa.

-Clean up the house and vacuum upstairs and the stairs.

-Organize my daughters room. I need to get rid of old toys and stuff to make room for everything she got for Christmas.

-Finish the laundry.

I'm trying to get all the cleaning and sorting done. My husband starts his new job Monday and then I am alone all day again with our daughter. It's a lot harder to get stuff done without him here.

You put highlights in your hair by yourself?
I'm impressed. How?

Visited the vet to get Miki's urinalysis results, which were really disappointing. (Have to take her again tomorrow to get an ultrasound..)

Cleaned up the house (a lot of vacuuming).

Took down the Christmas tree.

Good luck with the ultrasound

Rick is bowling early tonight (and I doubt it will be cancelled just for snow
, so while he's gone)
  • Take everything off the kitchen counter tops and give it all a good cleaning
  • Do a bit of dusting back in the computer room (I did get it fairly straightened-up; I should take a picture!
    )
  • Straighten up the recycling stuff in the basement....need to get the newspapers and magazines divided and all the cardboard from Christmas broken down

So far:

Scooped poop

Emptied the bins

Put in a load of laundry.

Still need to:

Dust and hoover the apartment thoroughly to get rid of all the Christmas mess.

Clean the fridge.

Take out the recycling.  (Sneaking out some of Mouse's box collection)

- Try out my new Christmas present. It's a shield/cover that goes over the car windshield and it's supposed to keep snow, frost and ice off. Perfect considering we're expecting 8 inches of snow between today and tomorrow!

- Hoping to leave early from work due to snow, if I do, I want to clean up the apartment

- Call my grandmother. I heard she was depressed over the holidays, and I want to keep on top of her with daily phone calls to cheer her up.
