Well it looks like I am down 4 pounds since Monday. Looooong way to go just to get back to where I was even.

OK, so the challenge for this week is to try a new recipe and serve in a manner that makes it a balanced meal for your diet. REport back on wht you tried. How did I do combining the two suggestions? :lol3:

Great work by everyone

l will be back, but not yet. My house is still full of Christmas treats/food gifts, and l am going to enjoy them, while not buying any more unhealthy foods. Once they're gone, l'll get back on track.

l gained some weight back from my loss last year, but not all. Next week will probably be my starting point.

Any cooking tips, recipes, organizational tips etc would be great here, that is where l let myself down even when l was losing weight. l'm not a great cook, l really hate to cook, and l end up throwing things together that aren't the best. l need to focus on my organization, turn it into a project, and that will rev my motivation.

See you next week

Congratulations!  I think that was a great job of combining the two :)

I hear you! :lol3: I would have lost more, but I was getting rid of all kind of chips yesterday and before I would throw away a bag I would have to taste them.

Have you ever thought about doing some crock pot meals?

I'm down two pounds as well :) I've had 3 days out of the last 10 where I could not or did not follow my diet plan, so I could have lost more, BUT the important thing is that the scale is moving in the right direction!

Great job combining the challenge!! I'll start with another new recipe this week - cauliflower "mac" & cheese :)

I'm down 1.2 pounds, but I still have a few to go before I'm at my pre-Christmas weight, lol. It's progress, though.

Well done everyone. I'm on holidays so I can't weigh myself and it's a bit hard to join in the challenge but I'm dieting. Good luck everyone. Let's make 2014 a slim one!!

Went shopping at the Wally World last night and picked up a digital food scale that measures in lbs, oz, or grams. I've read that it's one of the most important things to have in order to get your calories and/or fats, carbs, etc. correct instead of guesstimating.

Congrats to all on the losses!

Meant to say the scale was $18, requires no assembly, works straight out of the box, and seems to work really well! I love it so far.

Congratulations for everyone who had good results!

I am not weighing myself yet as I was counting calories last week and I was way above the ideal calorie intake every single day so first I have to find my balance back...

I had a really, really bad meal yesterday. :anon: I'm going to try to do penance today for it.

Has anyone given any thought to the new recipe they are trying? My husband is having an odd week so far at work and may not be around much for dinner this week, which will make it more difficult for me to try something new. At the very least I am going to pick a new recipe and share what it is.

You are absolutely correct! My kids got me one for Christmas several years ago and it sits on the kitchen counter all the time. And I use it. Enjoy!

So I made a new recipe last night for the challenge:

http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes...ki-sauce/9b470540-003b-4a20-9099-483d102439da

I used 99% lean ground turkey and fat free feta and no buns. I served it with a salad. They weren't bad.

Anyone else try a new recipe?

For next week's challenge I think I would like to do trying to drink more water. I know I have been awful about staying hydrated and I'm probably not the only one.
