Ran 5 min 4X, totaling 20 min.  Now that I'm finished with school and licensing exams, I can better focus on working out.  Just in time too, since the summer storms are here!  LOL

I'm also trying to do more by bicycle.  Instead of driving to pick up a sandwich, ride my bike.

Couch to 5k week 2, day 3 complete! I'm not sure if it's detrimental or not but I end up having a 2 day break between day 2 and day 3 because I first started the program on a Wednesday. Feeling it more today, but that could just be because I didn't have breakfast first like I usually do.

Added in a 40 min bike ride to today's totals.

@DragonHeart Nah, it doesn't matter if you had 2 days rest.  The point is to do a certain number of days per week and allow for adequate rest between workouts.  It doesn't have to be set in stone.  That's why there are so many different c25k programs.  You gotta find one that works for you and gets you running consistently.

Good work @AbbysMom and good to see you around again!

 Good work everybody. Keep going.

I did chest and biceps yesterday. Today I'm doing legs with Rohan. Yikes!!! They are so hard and He does not let me dilly dally. It will be cruel but I want good legs so that's what it's gonna take. It's such an awful day here. Cold, wet and windy. If I'm exhausted I just may have a nice sleep this arvo.
....... I didn't get to submit this earlier. I've trained my legs and I had an hours sleep. I am like a walking zombie. Can't wait for bedtime ;)

My favourite athlete at the moment is a Erin Stern. She always says "train hard y'all" So TRAIN HARD Y''ALL.

I did 20 mins of fat burning cardio today. Burpees, shoulder touch push ups, squats thrusts and prisoner lunges. Sets of 6 each then 8 for the last 5 mins. My legs are a bit sore from yesterday and I think they maybe a bit worse tomorrow ;)

Train hard Everybody. We can do this.

Burpees...man I hate those things!  Great job Tammat!

Ran 5 min x 4, totaling 20 min.  It was 87 degrees and no breeze.  But I got it done.

I did some bicycling on wet sand roads, some had crushed stone and I had to use two small pieces of tarmac to get from one road to another.

Distance 24.2km / 15 miles
Avg. Spd 13.8km/h / 8.6 mph
Max Spd 55.3km/h / 34.4 mph
Duration 1 hour 45 minutes
Avg. heart rate 121
Max heart rate 155
Altitude from sea level 175 to 248 meters / 574 to 814 feet
Calories burned 1380kcal

I find it bit odd how little calories were burned according to HRM, even I was pushing quite hard, sometimes I think that riding same route slower burns more calories.

Maybe difference comes from hill climbing, going faster short hills might be more efficient than changing down gears.

Also it is bit odd how max speed registered is not visible on that graph, but I guess it was such short time that graph rounds it off.

That average heart rate is 73% from my maximum, which would be Zone 3 or Zone 2 according to this calculator http://www.digifit.com/heartratezones/training-zones.asp

Such short duration is not feeling much in my legs unless I keep pace that high and I had no time for longer exercise today. I have found out lately that I will not get soreness to legs anymore, no matter how hard and how long I exercise there is no next day soreness, I can get legs tired so that I can't keep pushing faster, but it reduces my ability to push hard so much that I will not get such hard workout where legs would be sore.

Maybe I should start doing those anaerobic levels once or twice a week now? Last two years I have made mostly Zone 1 or even lower at the beginning, now I feel that Zone 2 / Zone 3 are which I need to do regularly.

It does feel bit unreal how much I can push without exhausting myself, lot to get used to, but also really great feeling.

Well done for running in the heat Peaches.
Great work everybody. I didn't post but I finished off my week. I had slightly sore knees on the weekend. I'm worried it's ITB?? Today they are fine. Fingers crossed.
This is my sixth week starting today so next week I will rest for the whole week. My kids are on school holidays so it's great timing.

Keep it up everybody.

I rested on the weekend, I've eaten so clean for 5 weeks it's ridiculous! I also thought I had my mindset right for training my legs last night. I was going to rock it!!! Instead I was pathetic. I don't grunt and cry as much anymore but I was pathetic. Apparently that was to be expected. This is week six my burnout week. Sheesh. The good news is that my legs and tummy are smaller and tighter and my arms are bigger. Woo Hoo!!
Keep going everybody. We can do this.
Still thinking of you Pam.

Cut 2 lawns this morning. Normally I'd cut my grass after a run/workout and think nothing of it, but the neighbor's lawn was ridiculous so no running.  It took me 1.5 hours of vigorous pushing back and forth to cut 0.25 acres.  It was a mess.  Then tonight I went on a bike ride, 9 mi in 47 min.  I started to go for longer, but my legs were shaking so I just headed in.

Great job Tammat!  I kinda miss weights and want to get back into it.  I keep telling myself that I'll be forced indoors soon enough.

I'm so glad I gave weights a try. They really make a difference. I didn't think I would ever get the hang of it but bit by bit I'm getting there. Today I did chest and biceps.

Keep it up everyone. Good work

Wow, well done everyone. It's amazing to think of where we started and how far we've come. I've still been walking, walking, walking, 4.5 -7 miles a day. The past few days have been tough with the heat. :thud:

The heat has been awful here too.  I ran 5 min 4X, totaling 20 min this morning.  I think taking those 1 minute walk breaks is really helping to keep me going.

I did visit in a shop today with mountain bike, for some reason I tend to ride always a mountain bike and never with my hybrid, maybe it is these poor roads of ours.

That was 10km round trip, around 30km/h average speed.

I had to change my eating quite a bit and this new is no good at all, I feel exhausted so easily, but then again I can't feed my cats unless I cut my own food, so there was no real choice there.

My daily diet has now only 400 grams of self made whole grain wheat bread and 100 grams of meat, then 1 litre of orange juice from whole oranges without any additives.

I lack of calcium and potassium, also salt is too low, there is also slightly less energy that I should get, but I have enough fat to compensate that.

During last week I lost 4kg of my weight, that is 8.8 pounds, so maybe it is good, but I don't know how much exercising I'm able to do with this diet. I just feel like need to sleep, constantly.

Another good bit is that I don't need to cook every day, every 4 days is enough, so I have lot more time available.

Oh I wish it was summer here. It is not snowing though and I am very thankful for that. I could not handle shovelling snow like our "snow walkers" .

Good job everybody
I did 20 mins cardio today 1/4 sprints, 1/2 jogs around an oval. It was cold and drizzling rain. I do find it a bit easier to run when it's cold though. I still sweat like mad though. It's a good way to get warm!!

Can you get fortified cereals, @JTbo?  That might help.  OJ has loads of potassium in it, but some of us sweat more than others.

@Tammat I could run better in the cold too.  Some lotion (acts as an insulator), some light layering, and off I would go.  I even run in cotton, no problem.  One day I'll buy better workout clothes but for now I do what I can.

Biked 47 min, 9 mi.  Almost got hit in the roundabout, by a local no less.  Aggravating.

Good job peaches. Drivers that don't look are the only negative about bike riding.

I did my back and triceps today. I've got to do my abs at some stage too.
