I thought of you when I heard about  the wind chill in Winnipeg the other day - the news said it was -50, holy cow.

I really can't imagine those kinds of temperatures; we were SO COLD in late November / early December and the temps were -9 C with windchills at (only) -15 C.

Holy cow is right! It was brutal.  I'm so thankful that I don't have to walk out in that weather, and that Handi Transit picks me up and takes me door to door.  It really was too cold to be outside!  This whole winter has been absolutely brutal. We've had snow twice, and both times were major blizzards.  All of the rest of the time it's been brutally cold.

We're getting more white stuff, too, starting Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. We're supposed to get around five inches, more nuisance stuff than anything.

It's 65 right now here in Dallas.  I had the little hot rod out for a ride, and it doesn't have any heat in it.
Awesome.  Glad to hear that area is getting some good weather after all the freezing stuff!  we've had 4 days of dreary, gray drizzly days here on the coast with the high only around 59.

I love really cold weather and would take that any day over really hot temps. Anything over 65f puts me in a bad mood lol. I experienced some bitter cold being from Alaska but a trip though Canada in the middle of winter was a winner on my cold scale. It got to -45 and I had to take the dogs out of the truck to go potty, an air mattress fell out of the truck and literally shattered like thin glass. My dad still wanted to smoke with the window cracked
. . .

Worst road trip EVER! Don't get me wrong, the Yukon is beautiful in winter, the roads aren't made for winter driving unless you drive a big truck lol. I thought we were going to die so many times.

 I know I couldn't! I'd never survive. I start complaining once it gets below 65 degrees F.

Belize. I'm telling you. Belize. As soon as I retire. Cats and all. I'd rather take my chances with hurricanes. And I'm completely serious. I have had it up to here with the cold and snow. Up to HERE.

It's become my mantra....

I have seen ads lately enticing people to retire to Belize.  It's supposed to be a low cost of living.

Oh my! That is crazy cold. Last month we got down to 7F and our pipes froze because we forgot to leave the water on a trickle. We were lucky that nothing broke but we didn't have water for 3 days. Hubby had to haul water in from town.

Check out this water main break.  It flooded a parking lot and froze all of the cars in solid ice. I think the city is sending in some equipment to melt the ice and have the cars towed tomorrow.

We can have some brutal winters, but I don't remember one being this cold so soon, and for so long without a break.  We've have winters where we've had like 3 or 4 weeks of severe cold but not usually until January.  This started in December and is going to continue for the rest of the week. Supposed to be a bit warmer on Friday, but they are predicting snow again.

I'm going absolutely stir crazy. I want to get out, but my joints are so sore from this cold. I didn't even go and get groceries today, even though I desperately need some milk, fresh fruit and veggies, because I just couldn't face going out in almost - 50 below weather.
