Any recommendations on a good organic cat treat? Looking for ideas for ones I might buy.  I am assuming I"ll probably have to special order online from a small business or specialty shop. Any recommendations on names of GOOD organic treats and WHY? I am more interested in knowing your WHY for the treats. :-) I prefer hearing about the products that have been used and the experiences with them rather than the list of ingredients.

I have chosen to feed Mouse 100% freeze dried meat / poultry / fish treats only, and the only variety my fussy boy has liked to date is Thrive fish. I am happy with this as they are not too hard if his mouth is sore (which is sometimes) and don't have anything added.  He's on a t / d dental prescription food which is high carb and has lots of additives so I want his occasional treats to be as simple and high protien as possible.  His liking them is the main aim and his other treats are his enzyme toothpaste and getting to drink water dripping from a hand held syringe.

If I could feed Mouse organic, eithically sourced food I would but my ability currently is restricted by a combination of his need for specialist food as well as limited market, and my purse strings which as considerably tighter than they were whenIi adopted him.  (It would be my choice for my own diet as well and that too has had to alter).

If you are keen to feed your cat treats that are organic and perhaps also ethically sourced and reared you might be interested in GraveKandi's thread as there will be options here to use meat, fish and poultry you buy and make your own.  Probably cheeper than the limited options for commercially source cat treats as well as potentially offering lots of variety depending on your creativity in the kitchen and knowledge of what is safe for cats.

I feed my kitten a wide range of treats but I try to stick with freeze dried for the most part. Some brands of freeze dried that I like to use and my kitten enjoys is Purebites, Wild Side Salmon (By Colorado natural pet) and Beams (By The Honest Kitchen)
