I think I may be the first one to see in the New Year, so I thought I'd start the thread

I've just watched the amazing Sydney fireworks on the tele, and I'm off to bed.

10  hours to go here before The Mile High City becomes more than just a nick name. Recreational marijuana (not just medical) becomes legal on Jan 1. in Colorado. Helped in local efforts to get this ballot measure defeated in Nov. 2012, but we failed-- and not by just a little.  Having struggled w/ addictive substances myself (and always will),  that's all we need is for another one to be legal and easily available. But the genie's out of the bottle now-- at least in this state.   Doubt we can ever get it reversed. So everyone else, watch us and learn-- I fear its headed your way. Anyway I wish you all a truly HAPPY NEW YEAR, and keep safe.

It seems so strange that it is a different year in other countries.   It's 4pm here so we have a bit  to go yet.
