Not sure if this is the place to post. I have a foster room and recently I had hardwood laid down though out the house. What is either the best thing to lay down on hardwoods that are easy to clean and is infect or what is the best way to disinfect wood floors?

Some sort of plastic, I think.  the first word coming into my mind is the world  linoleum from my childhood.

-  although I dont know if it is used in English.

In our home from today we have several floor laid out with a plastical material, made in different patterns - looking for example like stone.

Its nothing peculiar, you can buy it quite cheaply in places selling colors.  They have it in big rolls, you can choose whatever pattern you want.  Some are quite exclusive and costly, others are quite cheaper.  You do surely have it in your country too.

Somewhat alike the linoleum from my childhood, but a little thinner.

This is of course easy to wash off, and easy to disinfect.    In horse shops they do have disinfectants.  Kills off virues and bacterias.   Buy it there if disifectaction often is important for you.

I dont remember the brandname, but it is surely something similiar at your place.

Good luck!

Yes this flooring is called vinyl flooring. I use it in my kittening room because I have wooden laminate flooring in there and I don't want the kittens to damage it if they knock water bowls over or anything. It just lies down straight on top of the other flooring you don't need to stick it down or anything. You can roll it up for storage as well when you don't need it. It's easy to wash, wipe, sweep and its anti slip perfect for cats really

Thanks. I will look into it. I put down those mats that are like puzzle pieces but they aren't easy to really clean well.

Ps.  Re  desinfecting.  In practice, it seems its seldom people do bother to desinfect "heavy duty" for real.  Most are contend to wash thoroughly with  a liquid soap-solution.  Twice if need be.

But if you need to desifect for real, the horse stable preparate  should do its job, It isnt even especially costly.

Horse stables are big, so it cant be costly.   Walmart has probably it too, if they do have a corner for horses and stables.
