I was just wondering how much you do for your cat? I had a funny one on Xmas day eve - I'd been out for a few hours and came home early to see the cat and give him some dinner. He wasn't happy I'd left him and vocally protested so I grabbed his box and off we went for a late night walk together. This always cheers him up and gets me forgiveness!  He has this scratch box cardboard thing which he loves to be carried around on like lord muck, or to give him a helping hand to get up and down trees. So he climbed a couple of tree's, happily enjoying himself and didn't want to get off his box once he was done. So like a loony, I carried him around my street and let him sniff higher places that he couldn't normally reach.  One wall had ivy growing on it, so kitty had a good old sniff with me holding him up to reach. He then turned around and scented that ivy!! I couldn't believe what I was doing, holding a cat on a box, up in the air while he sprayed the top of a wall, but I couldn't stop because I didn't want either of us to get wet! All I can say is I am so glad it was dark :-)

Just wondered who else pampers to their cat's every whim?! I have really become a crazy cat lady, something I swore I'd never do!!

Not outside but inside the house. My cats love it. I carry them around and show them all the things up high (pictures ect) and let them look in places they can not get to normally. :lol3:

Oh yes, regular routine.  If I don't life my boy up when he 'asks me to' he catches me unawares jumping up on my back to get to these places anyway.  I like him to know what's in his home, but I do not let him get up to the places he really  wants to reach because I'd never be able to get him back down again!
    If I could get him to go outside I'd do the same out there too - looking daft or not.  How sad am I....

Yep, I do this with my indoor only cats too. I think what shocks people in real life is that I make my cats raw food. Then I point out the cats' health and no litter box odor. I've been slowly converting a few over to raw. Their biggest obstacle is trying to keep costs down while feeding pitbulls, German shepards, labs, etc.

My sister couldn't believe I was giving Oliver raw and planning to transition him to an all raw diet. Her cat grazes on cheap dry and gets a can of wet each day. I'm hoping once I get it all figured out, I'll be able to get her to improve her cat's diet. Her's is a female a bit older than Oliver but they look exactly alike. Oliver's fur is so much softer, though. I feel like that has to do with his diet.

OMG! I thought I was the only one who did that kind of stuff!!!

When my RB kitty Chynna was alive, I used to scoop her up as soon as I walked in the door and take her on a "tour" of the apartment. That girl loved to be carried. So I would cuddle her in my arms and show her the top shelf of the closets, let her inspect the tops of things she normally couldn't see or reach because her advanced age prevented her from getting to them.  Our most favourite though was for me to carry her into the bathroom and stand in front of the mirror with her and I cheek-to-cheek looking toward the mirror.  Her eyes would get big and she would purr, because not only could she feel me holding her, she could also see me too!

Abby doesn't like to get carried, neither does Katie. And Spencer is way too heavy!!

I sure miss my tours with Chynna

My last kitty was a big scaredy cat. I thought she shouldn't be so scared of the outside, so I did the same thing! I'd carry her in my arms and show her flowers and stuff there were high up, especially ones that looked really pretty or had strong smells.

Inside the house if she meowed I'd stop and ask her what was wrong. Sometimes I'd say, "Show Mommy," and follow her to see if she was complaining about something specific. If I couldn't see anything I'd pick her up and talk to her and rock her until she settled down. If it was bedtime I'd tuck her in and sit in bed with her (she slept on our bed).

I feel like I went above and beyond last night. Oliver was all up on me and beside me, which isn't entirely different than usual, but he didn't wake up when I moved as he normally does. So I repositioned myself around him throughout the night.

The result was that I was all contorted on the opposite side of the bed than I usually sleep, while he was all curled up in my blankets and in my spot!

@LaraLove, are you sure there wasn't a little grin on his face and a single eye peeking open when he thought you were asleep?  Sounds to me like young Oliver has a master plan and it involves your (his) bed!

@MServant, haha! Maybe?!

I think it may have been that because it was so cold here last night, I had the heating pad AND heating blanket turned on. So my bed was extra snuggly last night. May have to position things such that the other side is particularly snuggly for him.
