Hey I'm new and thought it best to introduce myself. My username is SingLittleOne, but shortening it to Sing is probably better. I've had manycats in my life, and have ecperience with spayed, neutered and not, full breeds and cross breeds, illnesses and injuries, and all ages.
. Not to long ago, my family lost our 7 month old kitten to a speeding car. At least it was quick. He had come from an house where severe inbreeding was taking place due to none of the cats being neutered or spayed. The rest of his litter had died painfully from a blood disease, and we thought him to be next, but the car got him first.
Not to long after though, a friend of my parents turned up with another kitty in need of our help, this time a female named Dixie. We aren't sure of her breed, all we know is that shes a cross of some kind (I expect a tabby cross). When we first got her she was extremly timid and shy, hated being picked up or touched at all, was constantly shaking, and if she sat in your lap she dug in with her claws terrified if someone approached. Nowadays she stalks about like the diva she was born to be. Unfortuneatley, a week later, after braving the garden which she has always been terrified of, she tried the road, and was hit by a car. After a trip to the vets, it appeared nothing was broken. However she had lost all nerves in her pelvis and couldn't control her bodily functions, as well as a droopy tail. A few weeks later, she has regained nerves in her pelvis, and after vet recommendations we are giving her a bit longer to see if it comes back before amputating the tail. To top it all off, she escaped the house which she never usally exits while in heat, and due to multiple signs we believe she may now be pregnant.
Oh, the life of an accident prone cat owner.
