OK "64" got spayed on Dec 9th, she's about 6 months old. Anyways now all she does is MEOW...LOUD and rolls and PURRS real loud, she wants us to rub her, her back her belly and she's real loveable, I'm not complaining but it's weird, could her hormones be out of whack ?

Aww she's adorable! I do feel better that my kitten is not the only cat acting that way

is she on pain killers from being spayed??? she could be a bit loopy from that? her being extra lovey dovey doesn't seem like a concern to me. however if you feel this is not normal...definitely take hare to the vet.

She could be extra vulnerable after the procedure and just wants extra love and care and attention.

I read stuff on here and got so upset , then I read on other sites that's it's normal for a kitten that got spayed before ever going into heat to act strange....64 got spayed at about 5 months and she had never went into heat, 3 weeks after her surgery she is now acting as though she is in heat, rolling around on the floor meowing and being real sweet.....she was on pain killing for 4 days after surgery but she has been fine till just yesterday....she is eating fine, going to bathroom fine...it's just that she is acting like I said above.....I do not believe a ovary was left or tissue,I did and it freaked me out....I do now believe it's normal  ...I hope I am right...never owning a cat before I'm not sure

Is she squatting down and "paddling" her back legs? That's a sure sign of a cat in heat, so if she's doing that, I'd talk to the vet about the possibility of retained ovarian tissue. If she's not doing that, well, cats are weird :lol3:. She might just feel extra lovey or winter is making her feel cuddly or who knows. I gave up trying to figure out the reasons for cats' weird behaviors a long time ago ;).

I agree with @Willowy  cats are weird. My jet goes from hissing at me and inanimate objects for no reason, to literally purring and bouncing around and meowing at me, wanting me to pick her up and walk around the house...not even 3 seconds later from her hissing episode. -___-. Jet's female, 3 months old, and fixed. She's my problem child. lol

And i can feel your pain, or rather, understand where you're coming from with your concern for 64 @karkel59. Anything and everything seems like it could be something bad rather than something off beat, weird or cooky about your cat. I've never had cats either until about 2 months ago. I kinda went off the deep end and got two cats! but yea, definitely go with your gut if you're really concerned bout anything. Call your vet for WHATEVER. rather safe than sorry. Also use this site for any questions or thoughts you might have (i did religiously! for any questions I had and when i was considering adopting Jet a month after having Charlie), also google is your best friend! I think you're doing an amazing job being so concerned and loving :) I hope 64 recovers to 100% and she continues to be the sweetheart that she is.

Good Luck.

Ok the VET that did the surgery called me, she said cats don't usually go into heat this time of year, she said though she is not perfect when she could only find one of 64 ovarys and one kidney she had another VET double check her. She did say it was possible that some tissue could have been left behind.she said to bring 64 in if she acts this way again so they can do tests and then if so they would have to do surgery again...pray this is not the case...thanks you guys for ALL YOUR HELP......I get so anxious

Maybe feral cats living outdoors don't go into heat this time of year. But I can tell you cats living indoors certainly do !!! They call all year round no matter what the weather. I've had two of mine calling all over Christmas. Now they have finished my other girl has started. So cats certainly can call anytime of the year :D
