Hello everybody.
I have a 5 month old persian/himalayan kitten. I got her about a month ago. When I brought her home she was very scared and timid. Typical new kitten behavior. Then I noticed she had a red spot in her eye. It looked like a broken blood vessel or something. I brought her to the vet and the vet said it was blood in her eye most likely due to a bacterial infection. She gave me medicine which I administered as directed. Her eye got better, and then a few days after it came back. However, it didn't seem to bother her as much as the first time around she barely ate or drank water. She seemed to function normally and started interacting with us. She would come out of her hiding place and eat and drink water and use the cat sand, up until yesterday.
I noticed she had not eaten any food and when I took her out of her hiding spot she seemed very scared and tried curling up into a ball. I looked at the one eye that had the blood spot and it is now completely filled with blood. It is so red I can't even see her pupil. The eye also has discharge. I tried putting her by her little house and she literally fell over. It's like her legs can't hold her up due to weakness or she has no balance. I tried a couple more times and she just falls right over. I know she wants to move because I had her in my lap and she tried shifting herself and literally fell over again. She is alert in regards to hearing things and looks around. But clearly i can tell she just doesn't feel well. Also, I'm assuming she doesn't have a bacterial infection like the vet said. Whatever she has seems to have flared up, but much worse. She can't get to her food and water or the cat sand box. I did give her two syringe full (2 tsp) of water today. She wouldn't like any baby chicken food off of my finger so I'm assuming she doesn't have much of an appetite.
Has anyone experienced anything like this? Or have any idea? I'm planning to bring her to the vet tomorrow. She doesn't seem to be in any pain and when I run my fingers along all her feet she does respond by moving them. Poor kitty
